The Imp Mech...
Is the single worst game design you guys made with Garden Warfare 2... The reason I say that is because it's radically different from any other mechanic that any other character class has. And you only gave it to one side of the war. Now I'm not saying it's like some broken thing or anything. But I think that its existence, its presence, is something you simply can't balance around as a whole on the team scale. It makes it almost impossible in my eyes.
I don't think you guys have an easy job ahead of you actually trying to balance the game. I'd be very surprised if GW2 ever, and I mean ever, becomes considered a balanced game. I think it's just too much to handle. Too many classes, and variants to control. But I think that the Mech throws the whole thing out of order... You get a whole bunch of these things running around, and characters are designed to fight other characters... A mech is 2, 3, even up to 4 times the health of an ordinary enemy. You know... And you have like 3 running around at once. You're asking the plant team to take down basically multiple times a normal teams HP in a short period of time in order to sustain a capture point or whatever it is you're doing.
And you know Electro Brainz's arc damage is 15 damage for some reason, when no other, not one single other electric class even does half of that. What is that about PopCap. Why does that even exist. What was the purpose of giving him 15 damage on that....above everybody else by double that amount. The inclusion of heavily armored abilites, more so than ever before. You buffed the Scientist for some reason. He wasn't this powerful in GW1... You gave him a random damage boost. I just think there's too much going on to actually have this game balanced. Having these issues, which can be normal sometimes I suppose in games in terms of balance of NORMAL CHARACTERS is fine. But with the mech in there as well only on one side I think it just amplifies it to a point of no return. Because you can't balance a team against normal classes, and the mech at the same time. The Mech is too radically different from a normal character to do.
My own personal critique. And I'd ask that the community just kind of keep cool about this thread. I'm not mad or anything. It's just a conclusion I came to thinking about all that was added and how the game has unfolded going into its 3rd month. To give it to one side, and one side alone is a bad design.
