Issues with VS mode
I have been given new hope for Replanted after seeing the devs claim that the game will be in a much better state at launch than it is now. With that in mind, here is a copy of a comment I made detailing some important errors I found in VS mode that I very much hope will be fixed. I’m giving this comment its own full post here to increase visibility. Here it is:
“VS mode needs a lot fixed ahead of release. There are 3 zombies from the original that are missing here (newspaper, catapult, and jack in the box). The zombie brain production is way too fast and inconsistent with the plants’ sun production, unlike in the original. Flower pot and plantern are now free and have no recharge so they’re just tools for infinite stalling which is incredibly unfun to fight against. Finally, gravestones can now be destroyed by instakill plants like jalapeño, doom-shroom, squash, chomper, etc, which can allow plants to score some extremely cheap and unfair early target kills, and is inconsistent with the graves’ function as walls in the original. Please adjust the mode in these ways so it can be the same experience fans remember and loved from the old days.”
There are also issues of plant projectiles passing through graves, and seed packets not being able to be selected while the match is playing if someone is using a mouse. Also gravestones turn blue when hit by snow peas, but this seems pointless when they don’t move or attack so there’s nothing to slow down. They also didn’t do this in the original.
