Joining Friends in May 2021 Update

I tried using Chrome and Safari. I have a MAC Book Pro, with 16 GB memory. I routinely clean the cache, although MAC's don't need it as much as PC's.

I have attached screenshots of what I do, and what happens.

When I try to "join game".. I get the list join game, host game etc. Prior to getting the incorrect screen, a brief message comes on "connecting to server". Never connects.

@zpatsfan1265 What are all the games this happens with? Also to check are you or any friend your trying to join in private mode?

@EA_Illiumthanks for your response. I'm telling you, it just doesn't work. I originally tried to see if joining worked with a good friend where we share personal information. Planned it all out, not in private, followed instructions, etc. I also tried to join another friend that I happened to see in another game, not sure exactly which one. Gin and Spades comes to mind, maybe one of the single player games. Pogo Bowl, etc. I'm not sure of these other people's status if they were private or not. But the friend I experimented with knew what she was doing. We read all instructions, etc. ahead of time. I am not computer illiterate. Just doesn't work.
Instead of leading me to instructions I've already read, can you comment on my original step by step process?? Am I missing something? Is this sequence correct in order to join my friends? Also, do the screen shots I sent look correct??

  I haven't heard anything further regarding my last reply. Joining friends doesn't work. See previous responses.

    @zpatsfan1265 Hello, my friend and I experienced the same thing today. I tried to contact EA through "Contact Us" and they were not able to answer my question. With the old format, I could join my friend and we would text each other a code to get to a private game of scrabble.
