Helpful Reminder: Online games can use a significant amount of memory, so it’s important to make sure our devices are running at its best. On an iPad, apps running in the background can take up resources even if you’re not actively using them! Try closing unused apps and restarting the device to free up memory and improve performance. 🙂
You can view a breakdown here:
- Settings → General → iPad Storage
- There you’ll see:
- Total storage used
- A breakdown by app
- Recommendations to free space
Troubleshooting is an ongoing process. Devices and apps receive updates regularly, and those changes can introduce new behaviors or unexpected issues. It’s always worth revisiting steps and staying flexible as things evolve.

But the point is that the troubleshooting steps aren’t working and haven’t worked for a long time.
Hello! YES, we can still use Apple devices! Windows devices, have similar troubleshooting steps too, it boils down to technology changing, updating and evolving.
Because of that complexity, occasional troubleshooting isn’t a sign that anything is broken. Technology has evolved rapidly in recent years, and modern devices and browsers now include many background features designed to "improve performance and security". It’s just the nature of modern, layered systems. When many moving pieces interact, small hiccups are normal and expected.
Most troubleshooting steps given can be beneficial not only for Pogo but for any website.
🔑 Key Takeaways to Know:
Troubleshooting our devices, is normal and is needed for security, stability and functionality. Clearing cookies and cache and updating our devices are very important, but there's more.
Safari’s privacy features can block cookies, scripts, or trackers that games rely on. Content blockers, VPNs, and filters can interfere with game scripts. Our devices need a clear connection to Pogo, without anything getting in the way or blocking the communication.
Write down a few troubleshooting steps to try when something starts acting a bit odd. Ask here or on The Apple Support Community it's completely free to use 🙂🎉plus someone may know some additional steps to try for help!

Troubleshooting has become a normal part of keeping things running smoothly. It doesn’t indicate a problem with your device or with Pogo, it's simply how today’s browsers and devices operate. Some call this leap in technology "Fourth Industrial Revolution".
We are all in this together and technology is changing for us all.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. It helped me understand how complex the problems are with so many factors coming from different places. I’m not sure if this is an accurate takeaway but after reading your post it sounds like ultimately these games just aren’t likely to be available to be played on an iPad. Does that seem right?

Hello! Sorry to hear about your reoccurring issues with Solitaire Home Story on and iPad, this can be quite frustrating and complex to deal with. Let me help answer a few of your concerns.
"Don’t you have updates for the Pogo app so we don’t have to through this all the time?"
Pogo does not have an app for either iOS devices or Android devices currently. Pogo is a browser-based gaming site that we access through browsers like Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, DuckDuckGo Browser and a few others. This is also why we must look for browser updates manually.
Most modern browsers update roughly every 2–4 weeks to patch security vulnerabilities, fix bugs, and stay compatible with modern websites. However, these updates can quietly change or reset certain settings, so it’s a good idea to check things once in a while if something suddenly looks or behaves differently.
If you do have an icon on your device this a bookmark, Pogo is not available in the Google Store or Apple Store for download.
Solitaire Home Story on my IPad it doesn’t load correctly, only half ways, then it kicks me out and starts all over again.
This loop may occur for several reasons; I elaborate extensively to a fellow player further down this post. Most of us aren’t aware of what’s happening behind the scenes on our devices (apple or windows), unless we stop and check what has changed.

🐦 Apple released an update today, January 26, 2026, for iPhones and iPads. This is iOS 26.2.1. You may receive it today or sometime over the next few days. Apple rolls out updates by region, so not everyone gets it at the same time. Some devices will see it right away, while others will receive it gradually.

The past week, every time I access Solitaire Home Story on my IPad it doesn’t load correctly, only half ways, then it kicks me out and starts all over again. Why can’t these bugs get fixed? This has happened numerous time with this game and many others. Don’t you have updates for the Pogo app so we don’t have to through this all the time? I love most of your games but the hoops you have to go through to play them are ridiculous. I can’t even get into any of the games now unless I go through “Browse Games” and click on that! Pogo fix your problems!

Hello! I understand your frustration and not being able to access games for months, is completely unacceptable and not the norm.
....the same suggestions (clear your cache, read this troubleshooting section written four years ago about Apple, etc 🙄) are repeated but you can see how many people, myself included, have done each step so many times with no success. Clearly, our settings aren’t the problem.
This troubleshooting guide was published 16 days ago. It serves as a compilation of different troubleshooting procedures. Apple may also provide further troubleshooting methods as seen in the link at the end of this post from their community.

"Settings change" more often than people think, because when they do change its normally behind the scenes without the user knowing or initiating the change. You're seeing others with this issue because Apple updates roll out to everyone at different times and may have to check the configuration on their devices again.
Apple's side:
- iOS/iPadOS updates every 2-4 weeks with security patches
- Each update can reset settings, add new restrictions, or change how Safari handles web content
- Apple's privacy and security features are now extremely aggressive - they actively block the kind of cross-site communication that games need
- Settings you changed months ago or even last week may have been silently turned back ON by Apple
- There is no set it and forget it in modern technology anymore, it is constantly changing/updating/patching
Pogo's side:
- Modern browser games load resources from multiple servers in real-time
- Different games use different technologies (which is why Matching Moments and Solitaire Home Story break while others work fine)
- These games need permissions and settings that Apple's security may see as "suspicious" - even though they're safe
Why this feels like a loop: It's not that you or anyone reading this didn't do the troubleshooting correctly. It's that this is now an ongoing compatibility dance between Apple's constantly-tightening security and browser-based games.
This isn't a "fix once and done" situation anymore—it's unfortunately ongoing maintenance. Whether you're an Apple or Windows user, any device updates can break configuration even for one game on Pogo.
For several months now I’ve seen people having the same problem I’ve had (games freeze while loading and go to black screen) and there’s been no improvement or status updates.
"Games freeze while loading and go to black screen." This usually happens because of security restrictions, browser extensions, or outdated graphics drivers. If the device detects anything suspicious, it may block the game from loading. Extensions can also interfere with how the game runs. And when graphics drivers are out of date, the system may fail to render images properly. This is something we often need to check manually, especially for Windows users on desktops and laptops.
Other systems checks may need to be done depending on if a Phone, Tablet, Desktop, Laptop (version or model) and which browser because every device & browser can be configured differently.
The internet and browsers have fundamentally changed: Not long ago, browsers and devices were simple - you clicked and played. But that's not how things work anymore. Rather it is Windows or Apple device you are using the systems have become complex. How? More options, more security, more updates and more systems interacting with one another.
The modern web/browsers today didn't just “update”, they transformed in recent years. What used to be a straightforward has turned into a layered, highly engineered ecosystem. I know this isn't the simple "click and play" experience it used to be, and I wish it were different. But checking those settings should get you back in the game.
Additionally, if you'd like to learn more, search "Why Safari users have issues playing browser-based games" - it's a widespread compatibility and configuration challenge for browser-based gamers (same for Windows users, Apple is just a bit more sensitive and more controlled). There are many possible combinations of settings, versions, and privacy rules, and any one of them can affect how a browser game loads or saves progress.

The problem has been here for so long, particularly with these two games, and the same suggestions (clear your cache, read this troubleshooting section written four years ago about Apple, etc 🙄) are repeated but you can see how many people, myself included, have done each step so many times with no success. Clearly, our settings aren’t the problem. For several months now I’ve seen people having the same problem I’ve had (games freeze while loading and go to black screen) and there’s been no improvement or status updates.
I don’t know if they’re working on the broken games to make them compatible with Apple devices but it’s been a long time now. If Pogo would just acknowledge that the problem is on their side and let us know if they’re trying to resolve the issues or not, it would be less frustrating than repeatedly responding with the same tired “Try this” lists that don’t fix anything and waste time.
It’s not right to be paying a monthly membership and not have access to certain games for months on end.
