Merge Academy - Game Cannot Be Saved Popup

On top of being unable to collect coins, the 'game cannot be saved' popup, that has been resolved for a couple of weeks, is back with a vengeance.  Even when I don't try to collect anything, I now get it four times in a row and a mandatory restart every time I get into the game.  Usually it doesn't happen right away, so I haven't lost any actual merged items so far (with no side events and no extra energy, my playing only lasts a minute or two when not collecting!), but it has been getting more frequent, and it's only matter of time before it interrupts gameplay.   This has been a recurring bug for a long time, and I found that it correlates with other glitches.  Sort of a canary in a coal mine - when you see it happen, it means that if you aren't having a problem already, you will soon.  And then they get worse/more frequent and less bypassable - from there.
