When selecting rewards in the constellation Nikolaus the Merrymaker, I don't receive the Merge Academy energy when I choose it. This goes for the free rewards and the Pogi Pass. I receive all of the other rewards, but I have never received the energy. Whenever Merge Academy energy was an option, I would choose it but I never received it from the beginning of the event.

I also had this issue at first with not receiving the energy. However, I found that if I played the game first and got my energy down to lower numbers, there would be "room" for the chosen energy from the Pogi constellation. Even though in-game you can receive bonus energy to place your total over 100 energy, it seems like with the constellation energy that it will not take you over 100.
I only have 59 energy and I still have not received my energy reward for Merge Academy. In fact, I am not receiving any rewards even though I have played the games and claimed my prizes. Seems like a few of us are not receiving any rewards that we have claimed. What good is it if you claim them, then you don't receive them.
