POGO = PROFIT !!!
In My Option:
As a long-time Club Pogo member, I feel the platform has shifted from being about fun to encouraging in-game spending. Many of the newer games rely on gems for boosters, extra moves, and other features, making them feel increasingly pay-to-play.
Classic card games like Spades and Canasta are still enjoyable because they're based on player skill, not gem purchases. That's why I'd love to see Pogo bring back Pinochle—a game that let friends play together online without constantly being encouraged to spend money on boosters.
It also feels like members still see constant promotions for other Pogo features, even though one of the benefits of Club Pogo has always been an ad-free experience.
I hope Pogo continues to support more classic, skill-based games and not focus so heavily on games designed around gem purchases and profit-based gameplay. Many of us joined Pogo to enjoy relaxing games with friends online, not to feel pressured into making additional purchases after already paying for a Club Pogo membership.
In my opinion, one of the biggest differences is that games like Pinochle, Spades, and Canasta reward player skill and decision-making. Many of the newer games feel like they rely more on computer-generated mechanics than on the player's choices. Whether that's actually the case or not, that's how they often feel to me.
I've also noticed that many of these newer games include boosters, extra moves, or other advantages that usually require gems to purchase. Unlike tokens or other in-game rewards that you earn through gameplay, gems cost real money. From my perspective, Pogo seems to be introducing more games built around gem purchases, making the platform feel increasingly focused on monetization rather than the classic, skill-based gameplay that attracted many of us in the first place.
Please consider bringing back Pinochle and continuing to develop more games where success depends on player skill instead of booster purchases. I believe many longtime members would welcome that change.
