Pogo Bowl has not worked since you changed the format.

Another year and still no fix for this game. I haven't been able to play this game since you changed to a new format and wiped everyone's score clean. Been a member for 26 years and have slowly watched POGO become just another game site with no one wanting to answer technical problems.

Hello! I moved your comment from this post to this new posting to avoid violating the EA Forum Rules and Guidelines 🙂

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for being a part of our Pogo community for 26 years. That alone is an incredible journey! Let's see if we can get you back to bowling🎳

"I haven't been able to play this game since you changed to a new format and wiped everyone's score clean."

That changed happened roughly 6-7 years ago now, here's a brief history:

🧩 What actually happened to Pogo’s format

The change to the new format you're referring to was not a stylistic redesign, the redesign happened for technical survival. Browsers began phasing out Java applets due to severe security vulnerabilities, and Pogo’s classic games were almost entirely Java‑based.

    Java deprecation (2015–2017)

    • Major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) removed NPAPI plugin support, which Java relied on.
    • This made Java games almost impossible to run properly
    • Pogo began retiring Java games and switching to HTML5 replacements.

    Pogo’s first major redesign (2017–2019)

    • EA rolled out a new Pogo interface in stages.
    • Many classic games were retired or were replaced with HTML5 versions.
    • At times the community refers to this period as “the new Pogo.” I have seen some believe this is the time when EA took over Pogo, when in actuality EA has owned Pogo since 2001 and Pogo is one of the longest running browser-based gaming sites in the world!

    Flash end‑of‑life (December 2020)

    • Adobe Flash was officially discontinued.
    • Pogo had to retire or rebuild all Flash‑based games as well.
    • This completed the transition to an HTML5‑only platform.

Why this matters to your current situation: Technology overall has changed greatly and to this day keeps changing and evolving nonstop. Some are referring to this moment in time as The Fourth Industrial Revolution due to technologies like AI, automation, robotics, and advanced computing.

Today’s technology is more complex than ever before. Our devices have endless settings, apps constantly talk to each other, and everything needs frequent updates and maintenance. It’s a big shift from the past, when computers were simpler, easier to fix, and programs ran independently. As powerful as modern technology is now, it comes with a level of complexity we never had to deal with before.

Pogo provides the games, but the performance of those games is heavily influenced by our own devices. Everything matters, system settings, hardware acceleration, graphics drivers, corrupt cookies or cache, browser extensions, and even something as simple as an outdated browser or device can all impact performance.

I doubled checked Pogo Bowl before replying to you and it is currently working on the Pogo website as designed. We just need to figure out why your device is not loading it 🧐

Please take a moment to view the Pogo Troubleshooting Guide and try a few system checks. If you continue to experience issues, please reply back with the type of device you are utilizing (laptop, computer, phone, tablet) and which browser you are using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.
