Hello! This is a two in one question, let's talk about purchasing gems.
I must first say that generally all account issues and purchase issues must go through EA Help, they are unable to help us with specific account or payment issues here, due to being in a public forum. You can find the steps on how to reach EA Help here > [POGO] How to Contact EA Support | EA Forums - 12464874
There was also a fellow player who got help through HP and I also gave additional troubleshooting steps in the posting > Trying to buy gems | EA Forums - 12288839
🧐 When you go through the checkout process, you may notice the address bar switching from Pogo to EA. Some browsers perceive this domain change as a potential security risk. When that happens, the browser may block the transaction, cause the page to loop, or halt the process altogether. In a way, that’s actually a good sign, however in this particular situation it is not.
Here are all the most effective troubleshooting steps to try, if one doesn't work move on to the next. Let's get it 🎉
Step One: Double check that your card is up to date and try deleting and reentering the card (ignore the warning and just add it again) or you can try using PayPal.
Step Two: Disable Extensions
Chrome/Edge:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in top right corner
- Go to Extensions → Manage Extensions
- Toggle off these types of extensions:
- Ad blockers
- Privacy tools
- Pop-up blockers
- Password managers (temporarily)
- Close and restart your browser
- Try purchasing gems
- Re-enable extensions after purchase
Firefox:
- Click the three lines (☰) menu in top right
- Click Add-ons and themes
- Click Extensions tab
- Toggle off ad blockers, privacy tools, pop-up blockers
- Restart Firefox
- Try purchasing gems
Safari:
- Safari menu → Preferences (or Settings)
- Click Extensions tab
- Uncheck any ad blockers or privacy extensions
- Close Preferences
- Try purchasing gems
Step Three: Allow Pop-ups for Pogo
- Chrome/Edge:
- Go to pogo.com
- Click the lock icon (or site info icon) in address bar
- Find Pop-ups and redirects
- Change to Allow
- Refresh the page and try purchasing
Firefox:
- Go to pogo.com
- Click the shield icon in address bar
- Turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for this site
- Or go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Permissions
- Click Exceptions next to "Block pop-up windows"
- Enter pogo.com and ea.com
- Click Allow then Save Changes
Safari:
- Safari menu → Preferences → Websites
- Click Pop-up Windows in left sidebar
- Find pogo.com in the list (or add it)
- Change dropdown to Allow
- Try purchasing gems
Step Four: Adjust Cookie Settings
Chrome/Edge:
- Settings → Privacy and security
- Click "Cookies and other site data"
- Select "Allow all cookies" (temporarily)
- Try purchasing
- Change back after
Firefox:
- Settings → Privacy & Security
- Set Enhanced Tracking Protection to "Standard" (not Strict)
Safari:
- Safari → Preferences → Privacy
- Uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking" (temporarily)
Step Five: Try a Different Browser = Multiple users reported this solved it immediately
- Chrome
- Edge
- Firefox
- Why this may work: New browser = no extensions blocking, fresh cookies, default settings.
Step Six: Use Incognito/Private Mode:
- Chrome/Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N or Cmd +Shift +N
- Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P or Cmd + Shift + P
- Safari: File → New Private Window
- Try purchasing in this mode!
Step Seven: Turn Off VPN (if you're using one)
Windows:
- Click the network icon in system tray (bottom right)
- Click your VPN connection
- Click Disconnect
- Try purchasing gems
Mac:
- Click the Apple menu → System Preferences/Settings
- Click Network
- Select your VPN in the left sidebar
- Click Disconnect
- Try purchasing gems
For VPN Apps:
- Open your VPN app
- Click Disconnect or toggle it Off
- Try purchasing gems
- Reconnect after purchase
Step Eight: Progressive Web App for Laptop and Desktop Users
Some players have reported adding as a shortcut on their desktop has helped (also known as a Progressive Web App). This shortcut may improve stability, performance and bypasses browser rendering issues.
- Visit to the Pogo homepage.
- Look for the box in the upper right-hand corner of the page and click it.
- A pop-up will appear — confirm the action.
- After that, check your desktop home screen and you’ll see a new Pogo icon there.
- Double click on the icon and log in Pogo through this shortcut.
- Don't like it or it didn't help, right click on Pogo icon on your home screen to uninstall (easy)

I have had this problem for over 1 year. Lots of people left POGO just because they can't buy gems. Look up my 5 or more letters to E.A.
You go and buy GEMS and the page doesn.t work. You go into a loop. I have explained this so many times. I used to be spending about 50-100 bucks a week & now can't buy nothing.
I explained it doesn't work & they keep saying " Use another credit card" but they don't look into the problem like they don't care. If they look at my info they will see what I used to spend compared to now which is nothing.
Hope you get the help you need. (please keep me informed on your progress)
Eric
