Exhibit List: Evidence of Systemic Failure and Support Mismanagement
Case: Mayor "USS Midway" (UID: 65876769)
Exhibit A: Contradictory and Factually Incorrect Support Advice
The Claim: Support advisors repeatedly stated that "incomplete road networks or dead ends" were the primary cause of service complaints.
The Reality: My city had maintained 100% happiness and a 7.2M+ population for 10 years with its existing road network prior to the Service 2.0 update.
Clarification on "Road Changes": I did eventually make minor road adjustments, but only to accommodate the different footprints of the new "Gifted" service buildings.
Proof of Error: These adjustments were for spatial layout, not connectivity. The city returned to 100% happiness only after the new capacity was integrated, proving the "disconnected road" script was an irrelevant deflection from the actual capacity bug.
Exhibit B: The Financial Toll of the "Population Trap"
Mechanism: The update triggered a population collapse, which artificially lowered service demand. As I added services to restore happiness, the resulting population spike immediately exceeded the new capacity limits, creating a "vicious cycle" of secondary failures.
Documented Losses:
1.5 Million Neo-Simoleons: Spent on forced, emergency service upgrades to stabilize the city against this cycle. 1 Million Simoleons: Spent on unavoidable road re-routing for building footprints and residential reconstruction.
8,000 SimCash: Specifically spent on a Maxis Manor as the only viable way to stabilize a region without total demolition.
Exhibit C: Sabotage of 4-Week Long-Term Investment
Event: Viking Contest of Mayors (COM) Season.
The Loss: I spent four weeks grinding for the Viking Ship capstone prize.
The "Penalty": Because the Service 2.0 crisis required two weeks of emergency management, I missed the critical window to use seasonal currency for the final upgrade.
Current Cost: Completing this project now requires a permanent 8,500 SimCash expenditure that was not required prior to the update chaos.
Exhibit D: Failure of Escalation and Irrelevant Scripting
The Failure: Despite an explicit request to escalate this ticket to the Chief Experience Officer and a report of 1.5M NS in losses, support responded with a generic marketing script.
The Content: The response informed me that the update was "rewarding" and "coming soon," completely ignoring that I have been on the new system for two weeks and have already suffered a massive city collapse.
Conclusion: The "Gifts" provided were insufficient to cover the 1.5M Neo-Simoleon and 16,500 total SimCash (Manor + Ship) losses. I am requesting a manual review of my account ledger for full reimbursement of these documented expenditures.
Services are in Red. After I unnecessarily upgraded the electricity it's started flagging the water as red. It's flagging red on top of the residential buildings.
All my services have way more capacity than demand because I spent resources upgrading them unnecessarily, since I'm new to the game and was utterly confused.
It seems the problem might be solved by moving fire stations so that their service areas would not touch each other. (Though that would require reorganisation of most of the region.)
When I had the same problem with regional service buildings, it was sufficient to move the service building so that it could not “grab” a home from area that was already covered by other service building.
The first picture (sufficient coverage) always reverted to the second picture (insufficient coverage) after I left the region. The third picture shows stable situation 100% coverage after deluxe heating plant was moved to the left.
Are you guys doing anything against the game-breaking services bug being reported by multiple people? The new system is currently broken: I have sufficient water/electricity/sewage coverage, but they dont connect to a lot of buildings in my city. There is no way for me to fix it and i cannot continue developing it until you guys are rolling a fix. This is visible in the screenshot attached.
Regarding what Ive seen in this forum i dont think many of your players are happy with this. I cant help but ask what the point of this update really is supposed to be. It makes progression even more annoying and centered around simoleons, not creativity.
I have seen and experienced the system for myself. I do like the upgradeable service buildings, theyre pretty useful and beginner-friendly. Apart from that however, the system brings more frustration and clutter to a game already kind of overwhelming to deal with for newer players and frustrating for engaged long-term players.
The new park index makes progression linear, as youre not allowed to save up for and buy the parks/landscapes you really want. If you know whats good for this game, you should advice with your team to roll back on the update. It brings more harm than good
If you need more information, feel free to let me know. But its in this community's interest to resolve this issue so it is vital that we receive some idea on how you and your teams are going about this. thanks in advance
I am experiencing a water shortage in SimCity BuildIt even though my water capacity far exceeds demand. All roads are fully connected, and electricity is working normally.
I have tried demolishing and rebuilding all residential buildings and water facilities, but the issue persists. As a result, all residents have left my city.
This appears to be a bug. Please assist in resolving this issue and provide compensation for the loss caused.
I have 3 services that have been stuck as red and a lot of abandoned buildings despite removing and rebuilding roads and moving the residences and service buildings around. All are connected by roads yet I have no residences that have no service problems. There was maybe an hour where electricity and water was green but when I built a couple new residences it went red and hasn't gone green since even though al service capacity is over 3 times as much as demand. Building new services and upgrading has not helped.
You have known this issue since the update came out, why had nothing been done about it???
Oh and I’m sick of producing products to sell so I can upgrade my services! I’m going to have to post this prostuesous situation all over the internet! You have seen your last days Amigo!
I’m having the same problem as everyone else. I have been a very successful Mayor for several years. Unfortunately after the pandemic (update) I am the worst mayor of all time! What did EA do do to my city? Can you give me the resources needed to make my citizens happy again since the pandemic (update)?:) Your Majesty!
