Android: Broken external railway tracks / Prellbock?

Hi everyone,

I noticed something strange in my Capital City today: The two external railway connections no longer share a continuous link. While the tracks on the Mountain side still lead out of the city, the tracks near HQ now end abruptly with a buffer stop right at the mountain connection point, completely cutting off the connection.

I checked several other cities via HQ and noticed it's missing in some, but completely normal in others.

Are any other Android players experiencing this sudden change or broken railway link in your cities? Would love to hear if this is happening to you as well!

  • A huge thank you to gg8jllasfa70 ! Your hint about adding a station on the Mountain side was the exact missing piece of the puzzle that pointed me in the right direction.

(Note: I have just added the additional screenshots showing the intermediate connection and the reloaded state to this thread!)

Here is a summary of how these mechanics work behind the scenes:

    • 1. The Half-Tile Grid Shift: Confirming a track connection on the Mountain side shifts the internal mountain tracks by half a tile into the unexpanded area. Since objects require full tiles to be placed, this half-tile offset shrinks the available space and causes placement block and overlap errors.
    • 2. Network Logic & Grid Shift Cause: As long as an active Mountain track connection exists, the grid shift remains present. If the Mountain connection is isolated, the game sets a buffer stop on the HQ side. To clear the buffer stop at HQ, you must connect a track from your city network directly to the Mountain side.
    • 3. Routing Dynamics & State Sync: Connecting the city network routes the HQ connection specifically towards the Mountain side. However, when you break or remove this connection (even if you delete the isolated connection entirely), the session desyncs: the game server still acts as if the connection exists. Depending on whether tracks were removed partially or completely, the HQ side incorrectly shows connections again in either one or both directions, keeping the grid shift active.
    • 4. The Reload Reset: The server only re-evaluates the overall network topology when you leave and re-enter the city (or reload). As long as the connection to the internal city network has been disconnected, the buffer stop is guaranteed to reappear at HQ upon reloading. If the Mountain connection was also completely removed, the mountain grid shift finally disappears along with it.

Call to Action for the Developers:

This points to a clear bug in the game's network topology and state-sync logic. I kindly ask the developers to fix this synchronization issue so that establishing or removing an external connection immediately updates the server state in real time — correctly removing the buffer stop when connected and resetting the grid shift, without requiring a "full city reload!

  • Mine has been like that for quite some time. Just the other dayi added a station in my capital and connected it to the mountain rail line and I noticed that this caused the perpendicular track to connect suddenly.
