- Anonymous10 years agoYes. Things are not selling because no one is rebuilding buildings because very few are creating disasters. Plus I believe many have quit the game because there is no real accomplishments after your city becomes large.
- Same here. I think it's a combination of things from no one using Dr. Vu anymore, a lot of people, myself included, making high priced items to pay for all these * road upgrades that cost upwards of §60,000 and of course people leaving the game after this update. You also have to figure a lot of people are just visiting other cities to get the freebie then turning around and selling it instead of buying anything. This update has completely screwed this game up. There is a plus though I've also noticed it's much easier to buy premium items such as expansion items since there isn't as much buying competition.
- Anonymous10 years agoI think the reason sales have slowed down is because you now have to spend hours searching random cities hoping to find an item you need because the market is so filled with Vu clutter. So many people have stopped searching. Maybe even stopped playing. When are they going to finally fix this? They must be losing a lot of money since the last update.
- Anonymous10 years agoBest to do as I did and freaking quit playing this EA piece of *. I had been playing it for months but this last update killed this game and we all know that EA has a track record of screwing up Sim City games. 😡 I'm done with all EA games!
- Anonymous10 years agoI agree, complete randomness is BS. Add a search engine to the development platform of the global trade market so we can search for items we want to buy or add a category option. And, loose the damn timer! Simply put a refresh button permenantly there & when you want a new batch of items you hit REFRESH.
Simple stuff right. - Anonymous10 years agoI agree with u buddy i just hate lalmas doing mistakes in book keeping
- Anonymous10 years agoThe biggest problem I have with global trade is just the fact that it's built on the shenanigans engine. I've seen it so many times it just irritates me. When you need something for an upgrade, that item simply won't be "available" in the market. Sure you could spend the bucks and buy it. It's blatantly obvious what they are doing. That or I'm literally the unluckiest person on the planet. I should screen vid cap it happening. Seems kinda fraudish. It is most prevalent on the final item needed to upgrade a building. Say you have the mats and meet 5 out of the 6 required items. The last item is the one you won't find. I might need one cherry pie to upgrade. Check market 50 times, nothing. BUY the item using bucks. Check market, cherry pie damn near every single page. That's BS. The market is gamed for impulsive buyers. I get it's a business but cmon. First world problems I guess. Love the game but it just feels dirty when things like that occur so often.
- Anonymous10 years agoSimple explanation : TD and GTHQ error, server error, forever. Every item sold out, When i need an item, i'll get it on a 1/20 out of 100 chances. Little improvements on updates, simcash too expensive. But its a great game, if i dont look at the trading system, though.
Detailed explanations : According to my case : The main problem is that after the last update, when a certain amount of money you get from trade depotvor certain level, i'm not sure, (like i did when i start a new game) the game barely give you errors like :
1. Selling at Trade Depot will error like not being sold and later bought by Daniel, which probably (based on your items) give you 30k after 72hrs (when normal maybe 30k/8hrs)
2. Buying at the already screwed up GTHQ is more screwed up, because every darn item u want to buy is already sold (maybe auto generate when you enter the city, based on the system engineering cause i try every item on the list and its all sold out, I meant who wanna buy steel x1 for 10times in a row for God sake?) or when you tried to buy the item, its inconveniently error (maybe the system try to allocate that for newbies to make them get addicted to the game whilist making the pros or seller felt * because no pros buy the item except them newbies), for additional info, while i experience all this error at once after i earned 175k from the depot in 3 days (new game) once when i refreshed the GTHQ there is "Nothing for sale right now." Really? Who is going to believe that? And after that everything connected to trading, error. So maybe i got 1/20 chance on getting an item from the depot, and mostly its the one that i dont need or i got a load of them in the inventory or basicly trash (x10 steel. Really? Im not going spent simoleon for waiting one min in the game.) And expansions item not included.
3. If you have a lot of expansions item just count how much npc auto generated buyer pop ups, i lost count myself for waiting that darn 1 gear for a whole day (i finally get that, after i get a lot of exhaust and dozer and camera from visiting cities and dialog pop-ups) maybe so that you want to pay simcash to buy expansions and trade your expansions for money. Most crappiest idea. Ever.
Overall : Based on my experience, maybe the trade depot is set to have an error, i have reported it though and they say its a server problem. But if 600+ people having the same issues every second i doubt its a server error though, as there is a lot of things they could do to make it better right? I meant it is easy to make the coding display error while it is not (just think if its a server error, why my friend who is NOT my game friend sees my item (luckily, on GTHQ) but sold out, when my friend who IS my game friend cannot see anything in my depot but in my depot its still there and pop ups "This item sold out. Cant be deleted" every 19/20 chances. Wait 3 days, happens again). Are the servers is really that bad? I pity though. And no hard feelings to the devs, this is just my opinion based on experience. Its not a problem though, if you want to make me as a player to wait 3days everytime i sold things so Daniel bought, and opening pop-ups till i got the item, because its not bothering me at all. But dont expect to make me spend $ cause the price is not worth it.
This is my own mind thinking how the system works if it is not an actual server error:
If a player put <ITEM> then create <ITEM> at <TRADINGSERVER>
If a player click <ITEM> then show <CITY> ;<DEPOT>;<ERRORMESSAGE> else [sold out]
<ITEM> show based on <CALCULATION in="" combine="" with="" current="" player="" level=""> on how much you got that item to a certain amount that it is required to be used for (if its more than (%) show npc buyer <INTERVAL> else GTHQ rate <(+)value> or if its lower than (%) GTHQ rate <(-)value> (decreasing amount of items showed) else show npc buyer <INTERVAL>. Its as easy as that with some adjustment on how the game coding based on, but really its as simple as that to show a server error text.
Edit : changed from blaming to explaining to avoid getting banned for nothing.
Edit2: adding the last paragraph
Edit3: why the day after i post this i could sell all my items as quick as i placed it and i could buy all the expansion items i want? Oh thank you gamedevs, if you didnt do anything, maybe the Llamas answer my wishes, hahaha. - Anonymous10 years ago
