I’ve been thinking about the reports from players who are receiving Mass Train delivery  requests for items from regions they haven't even unlocked yet. I am not affected by this myself, but I have a theory about the logic behind it.

My Theory:

As long as a player hasn't unlocked any region, the game might be using the same "randomized  logic" for train orders that it uses for regional currency in the Mayor’s Pass or Event Tracks. Since the system has no "unlocked" anchor point yet, it simply picks a random region from the entire pool. Once you actively unlock your first region, a filter might kick in, limiting requests to the areas you actually own.

To find out if this theory holds water, I need some information from you:

For those receiving requests for "locked" regional items:

1. Have you unlocked any region at all yet? 

2. What is your current City Level?

3. Do you hold regional currency for a locked region (e.g., from pass rewards)?

Without your feedback, this is just a thought experiment—but with your input, we might find  the pattern behind this issue. Thanks for sharing!

    I have been getting train delivery requests for locked regions as well, from limestone cliffs. 

    1. have unlocked sunny isles and green valley only
    2. 62
    3. No rewards or items from locked regions

    Thank you for the info! To help me pin down the cause of this logic error, could you check two  more specific details for me?

    I am Level 97 and have 4 regions unlocked, including the Limestone Cliffs. Interestingly, I also  had a delivery for Silk recently, but the game required me to use a Construction Wagon for it. According to EA’s official info, Silk is a factory item and should belong to the Industrial Wagon. This shows that the wagon assignments might be bugged or inconsistent.

    1. The Wagon Type: Which specific wagon did the train require for your Limestone Cliffs  item? Was it the 'correct' one for that category, or was it also assigned to a completely different wagon type?

    2. The Connection: Do you have train stations in your unlocked regions (Sunny Isles/Green  Valley), and are they connected to the outside world (the tracks leading off the map)?

    Since you are getting requests for a region you don't own, while I am getting 'wrong' wagon  assignments for a region I do own, comparing our setups (like the outside connections) might show if the train system is ignoring both regional locks and item categories. Thanks again!"

    Wagon Types: To be honest, I haven’t been tracking the icon mismatches closely because I’ve focused on simply using the car the delivery card requests. However, my inventory is deep enough (6 First Class, 10 Material, 9 Tool, and a growing set of Rustic cars) that I effectively 'brute force' through any assignment, whether it’s bugged or not. I'll keep an eye out to see if my Crude Oil is being assigned to something nonsensical like a Construction Wagon.

    Regional Connectivity: I am at Level 99 and have four regions unlocked (Limestone Cliffs, Sunny Isles, Green Valley, and Frosty Fjords). I have mass transit stations placed in all of them. While I have plenty of stations, the track connections to the 'outside world' vary by region.

    The 'Locked' Issue: The core problem on my end is that the game is demanding Crude Oil, which is tied to the Cactus Canyon region—a region I do not own and still working to unlock.

    It seems the game engine is scanning our player levels (97/99) and assuming we should have access to the full item pool, regardless of which regions we’ve actually purchased or how our tracks are laid out. It’s less of a 'connectivity' issue and more of a 'level-based' oversight in the RNG task generator."

    So far this has not slowed me down much,  more that through Rank 17.

    Hi! I'm level 99. I have four regions. The one I don't have is Limestones Cliffs, and I've been receiving train tasks asking for Silk  from LimestonesCliffs the last two days. But I don't have any currency from that region. Nothing but a landscape kind of tree  I don't remember which one, that comes from that region. Bamboo tree or something like that. It was given in a COM or event. It's the only thing I have from that region. I've been contacting the help service through the game the last two days, and they are so useless as always. I am angry right now and I have answered them what I think of them clearly. Two days asking to explain the same thing twice or thrice, asking for screenshots several times though I had already sent all that. Then they send me to the EA help FAQS.... Then they tell me to reinstall, then they ask all data from my tablet, model, manufacturer, S.O.  to end up saying that I could change the task if I don't like it or I could search those items in the global market or ask for them to other players or search in EA help how to obtain those items....... Really? Really? Does that mean that the chat helpers haven't even played the game to know that you can't neither produce nor buy or see items from unlocked regions???? I've sent all kind of spells to this useless EA service. They're wasting our time, sucking our money and they don't even have the minimum respect for us!!!!

    I've just given my info answering to your previous text. As I see you also ask for that I'll say too that I don't have train stations in my regions. I have four stations, but all of them in the capital. And about the wagon type, yes, you're right. I hadn't realized that they ask for silk but in produced items wagon, not in materials wagon. I've checked my screenshots and it's always been like that

    Thank you so much for your reply! I have a theory about this: it feels like EA simply distributed  the 19 different shops across the 5 available freight cars, without checking if those shops or regions are actually unlocked for the player. My guess is that the moment a player unlocks a specific freight car, the game automatically pulls assignments from all shops assigned to that car, completely ignoring whether you own the region or not.

    I suspect this logic flaw might even affect the regular shops in the Capital City for newer  players, as those shops unlock gradually with level increases, but that is just a guess of mine for now. If this is true, it's a fundamental logic flaw in how the tasks are generated, and I really hope the developers fix this soon!

    Hi! Thanks for your answer! Yours is a good hypothesis. I really don't know anything about the inners of the games so I can't imagine what the error is, but it's sure it doesn't act as the rest of the game and it should be consider a bug. I've been seven years playing this game and I've never seen items from regions I don't have. I'll send here the official answer they give in the help chat, which has desperated me. I've opened three chats and they've alsways answered more or less the same. And they close the chat whatever you agree with the answer or not. 

    Anyway, I also thank you because you've said in another post something that has helped me a lot: the error happens when you ask for another task in the big train options window, and not when you claim the prize in the little column at the left. So I've been avoiding the bug the last hours. It's good you have noticed it because I think EA won't put great effort in repairing the game 🙄

    Thanks for sharing those screenshots! Honestly, that sounds exactly like the typical EA Helpdesk experience. When it comes to real programming bugs, they usually have no idea and just give you generic, useless advice like 'buy it from the GTHQ' before closing the ticket. You  won't get any real help from them other than automated kind words. It’s exactly why we have to figure this out ourselves in the forum and hope the actual developers eventually notice it!

    Thanks for your answer. Yes, there's no help from help service and I think there's no improve from developers. As an update, there's no update... Everything stays the same. The tasks keep asking for silk. I've checked too that the error in my game occurs in both sides, not as we formerly thought: when asking new tasks in general train window and also when asking for them in the little column in the left. So well, nothing new under the sun. I'm really tired of this game... 😵
