I did the same thing, leveled up the Funfair to 9 on the assumption that the Week 2 collection could be completed in Week 2.
How stupid I was.
I'll hit Level 32 on the Premium+ Mayor's pass and will still be 31,000 seasonal coins short. I'm sitting on 47,000 pretzels, which given the lag time in redeeming them, should give me the remaining coins approximately seven hours after Earth crashes into the sun.
This season's rewards were generated by some combination of:
a) zero testing
b) everyone involved in its creation being awful at math, or
c) a deliberate cash grab to coerce us in buying seasonal coins (I definitely won't)
I'm willing to entertain the possibility that all three things are true. - kmalt10246 months agoSeasoned Novice
Yeah it’s especially ridiculous considering that I’ve already purchased the extra content this month, which is what Mayor’s Pass Premium is. Right?
Like, pay us some money for this additional content that you won’t get if you play free.
Okay. I’m willing to give you $5 for this. But that should mean I have access to ALL OF THAT CONTENT. If you, EA, still want to charge extra for EXTRA perks, go ahead. But this is not an extra perk. This is literally an expansion I already paid to play. Give it to me.
What is this? Spirit Air?
I’m old enough to remember when you paid your $50 and got the game in a box and took it home and everything worked and you could do everything in the game.
As much as I love the way my city looks and have had fun building it over the last couple years, this Mayor’s Pass business combined with the ridiculous 5-minute startup lag and bugs like clicking on the trade depot suddenly transporting you to a hotspot on the opposite side of the map, I feel like this game is becoming a knock off of itself. Truly a sub-par cash grab from people who used to deliver high quality gaming.

Same here. I had upgraded the funfair to level 5 so to get to level 9 I need 77k green currency plus 52k for highlight tower and only have 91k so need another 29k which I have no way of getting as have completed everything I can and bake sale and daily calendar only option left. I bought the premium pass in week 1 to enable me to complete the season and by week 2 realise that isn’t going to happen and will cost another £24 this week to buy the required currency (no way am doing that) what a total waste of money! EA you should be refunding everyone that has bought the premium pass this month but know you won’t as your greed as a company knows no bounds. If you ever wonder why there are so many cheats in this game then just look at how you are treating your honest players and you will see why. I think you are going to lose a lot of long standing players over this. I know I will never buy the pass again going forward.

I have the high tower have it in my storage, I placed it in my sunny isles went to upgrade and guess what….you have to pay 120green cash for it. So my advice Do Not Get It! Just another example of a cash grab from the so and so’s that run this.
I have every item that is up for sale in the Curator shop and again they need you to pay a huge amount of cash which when I got them you payed with gold keys and platinum keys. This game is truely becoming a cash cow for someone!

Anyone have any idea what the maximum level is for the Funfair? Is it 15 like the Monaco casino from last season? Also, at what level does the look of the Funfair change to add the roller coaster? I'm at level 6 and it hasn't changed yet.

Maybe if they didn’t operate under the erroneous belief that anybody needs 100 new things to happen in the game every single week to keep playing it, they wouldn’t be trying so hard to squeeze us for cash to pay all the staff to make those 100 new things weekly.
Really I would be happier with bug fixes that don’t seem to matter to EA and with small upgrades like overlays for lily pads for lakes or rocky rapids for rivers or a waterfall tile that could be placed where a river meets a hill or better hills that don’t constantly shift forms or more animals like birds flying over forests or swans in the lakes or, hell, some freaking llamas! Or DIAGONAL ROADS!!! And more single tile objects other than trees and the couple of small parks. Give me piazza tiles that connect like roads and connect to the roads that buildings can use for connection to the grid but that cars cannot travel on top of and then let me put overlays of street vendors. Give me a gondola port so that I can have gondoliers in my water ways and have that count as public transit or give me single tile subway stops and let me put an underground transit system in place with transfers so that trains can run from the ground level into the underground level. Fix the scale on things so that it matches across the different eras of the game. Let me have low density housing zones. Give me more commercial buildings that can be placed more than one time because they come back in a Sim City Classic set. Do you know how many movie theaters or post offices or hair salons I would put out if they cost gold keys and were always available? There’s SO MUCH that would be smaller scale and easier for the team to manage on a regular basis than constantly turning out these massive new asset sets every four weeks that have to be paid for with $25 price tags that nobody really wants to buy, forcing EA to try to recoup the cost by throwing up a three step paywall to get them.
Leave the Mayor’s Pass to an update every other month that runs for 8 weeks instead of four. Fix the bugs. Spend time on quality of life upgrades for long term players instead of pumping out this constant stream of big flashy new buildings that seem to always come with some kind of new (and unnecessary) game mechanic.
I am not playing this game to churn one kind of currency into another kind of currency to have to spend real world currency six times to accumulate the one item I already bought. Nor am I willing to log in every 30 minutes to click the button for a few measly green coins of that unnecessary and unwanted currency, which probably wouldn’t even amount to enough to get the item in the first place. That’s a job not a game to play. I play this game because I like to build a city. EA are ruining the fun.

You explained it very well.
They should be trying to improve the game but they are trying to scam people
For example, when we are reconstructing the city, we need a form in which everything can be collected. And for example, there is no translation in chats, which is available in every game right now, in SimCity Buildit.
