I'd like to use Train Stations in regions and in City Design Challenges. Is it possible?
Sure, you can build your stations in any location you want. Some regions have special routes for trains like bridges and tunnels which allow your trains to move freely between areas.
In City Design Challenges you won't be able to dispatch trains or earn Rail Simoleons, but you can build stations and connect them with tracks. Once you connect your stations with railroad tracks trains will automatically appear to bring life to your creation.
A Train Season is a Train type themed event which lasts for a limited time. During a Train season a Train Pass will be active which gives you additional rewards for engaging with Trains.
The Season Theme is tied to Train types: Steam, Diesel & Electric. When a season is active the trains which match the theme receive a cooldown reduction. Be sure to use those types trains as they will help you get more points faster. Rewards from Train Pass includes Train Cards which help you upgrade your trains.
Train Pass is a reward path which gives you additional rewards for engaging with trains. As you dispatch trains and complete Train Deliveries you will receive Train Points which are used to progress in Train Pass. Train Pass has two lanes. Free and Premium. The free tier rewards are available for everyone. The premium track needs to be purchased for you to be eligible to receive the rewards.
You can purchase the pass at any time when the season is active.
Train points are points used towards the Train pass progression. You will receive Train points from dispatching trains and completing Train Deliveries. The amount of points you receive is tied to the amount cargo you dispatch and delivery content.
You can see the amount of points you receive from dispatches next to the train you loaded passengers or cargo into and from Train deliveries in Mass Transit HQ or in the Delivery bar in the station.
What are Train Deliveries, and how do I complete them?
Train Deliveries are requests from Mass Transit HQ to transport Passengers and Cargo. They appear in the unlocked delivery slots. Slots are unlocked permanently by reaching specific Mass Transit Ranks or by purchasing an extra delivery slot that stays unlocked until the current train season ends. Active deliveries are visible in Mass Transit HQ as well as in the Train Station view. Use the arrows in the train station to choose the delivery you want — only the selected delivery will be filled when you dispatch the train.
Complete deliveries by sending the required items or passengers using the right train cars. Some deliveries also require a specific train. Completing Train Deliveries will give you rewards, including Train Pass & Mass Transit points. Train Pass points are used to progress in the Train Pass, and Mass Transit points are used to increase your Mass Transit rank. When a delivery is complete, it becomes claimable on the left side. You must claim the rewards before starting a new job in that slot.
Train Deliveries gives you higher amount of Train Pass points which makes it easier to progress. Train Deliveries are also the only source of Mass Transit points which increases your Mass Transit Rank. Having a higher Mass Transit rank unlocks new train cars, more delivery tracks & better deliveries.
I'm dispatching trains with the matching passengers & cargo. Why are my Train Deliveries not progressing?
Train deliveries you want to progress must be chosen in you Delivery bar in the station. Train Deliveries can also have additional requirements like train type or a specific model. Make sure to use the correct trains and choose the correct delivery.
You will receive new train cars occasionally as a reward when your Mass Transit rank increases. There are two types of train cars, Passenger & Cargo. Passenger cars require a specific passenger type which is indicated by the car. Cargo cars are used to deliver items and specific items require a specific car.
Once you receive new cars, you can change the composition of your train by going into your Train list, tapping the configure button on the train you want, and dragging the car you want on top of the car you want to change, or dragging passenger or cargo cars into its slots.
Empty slots are automatically filled with economy passenger cars that are available in the game from the start at no cost.
New types of cars are unlocked by progressing through Mass Transit Ranks
You can configure only the train cars that they own
You can own multiple cargo cars; there is no storage limit
You can mix and match cars on each train
You can change your train setup before loading the first items or passengers
You cannot configure trains that are on cooldown. But can still check the current configuration by tapping train info.
You can configure your trains as many times as you want, but once you've loaded passengers or cargo onto the train, you need to dispatch it first.
