Two Community Suggestions Implemented in <12 mo...Proof EA is listening?
This is more of an observation, following the announcement this morning about the "Knock Down/Out" feature that's been brought to club wars and the curious reaction I'm seeing to the news (as no one has had the opportunity as yet to see it in action) elsewhere online.
While I'm unable to cite the exact post (due in no small part to the rather pathetic forum search capabilities here), I have combed through years of posts in the "Game Improvement" thread over the past couple years and so I have a lot of confidence that the repeated requests to 1) create a boost/attack that would 'break' the shield and 2) put a time limit on how long a team can stay shielded, initially came from SCBI's player community. Now, we may not be exactly happy with the way Shield Buster was implemented, and who knows how things will flesh out with the "knock down/out" timer, but can we all just take a moment to stop and appreciate the fact that EA actually listened to player feedback and made changes based on that feedback?
I'm not nominating them for any customer service awardsš but I have to give some credit where it's due, since "bubble teams" was arguably the single biggest complaint in this game when it comes to club wars. After years of feeling like our cries fell on deaf ears, we now have TWO ways to counter this complaint, both released within 9 months of each other (Sept 2019, May 2020). This has to give us a bit of hope that squeaky wheels do in fact get the grease, doesn't it?
I'm not what one would call an eternal optimist, but the amount of preemptive lamenting I'm seeing in online groups for this game about a feature that it seemed like most players wanted at one point, is honestly disappointing and mind boggling. Can we take some solace in the fact that we have clear evidence now that our opinions are actually taken into consideration, and also at least wait if and until the idea crashes and burns before we renew our digital pitchforks? š¤
