What, the few Thrasher, Santa Cruz, Girl, and Vans items weren’t enough? 😂😂
I say this in jest… sort of… the fact of the matter is this: EA saw that Epic and Battle.net are going gangbusters with skins, upgrades, and other junk that they are making everyone pay real money to own, and they said “you know what? Aside from our sports games, we’ve really been putting out some trash the last few years. Instead of going back to the drawing board, let’s do what everyone else is doing and make lots of money off of the fans.” Then they slapped this game together, and called it Skate (because they knew the fans of the series would be all over it after 10 years of waiting after Skate3), stripped the majority of what made the Skate series amazing (hall of meat, various challenges, out running security, and pros hanging out in the game… the list goes on), flooded it with micro transactions, and then said “Well, the game is free, so you shouldn’t have expectations”.
Don’t get me wrong, this game is a ton of fun… but it’s definitely not Skate 4 like everyone anticipated.
I agree with all of this.
It's hard to really find the effort to play the current content when all of the rewards are not relevant to the theme of the game at all. And honestly, the new update is nice to see but it still doesn't look like it's bringing any of the classic game modes you mentioned. "Own The Lot - Except it's just a really lame version of OTL from Skate 3, Merry Christmas!"
I think it's better for them that the game is free to play, otherwise this game would've been forgotten about already. 😜
Agreed. However I would make the caveat that the Stunt challenges are the only ones I dislike. If we could replace the stunts with HoM, and keep the current standard for own the Spot, I’d be happier.
