Community Park "Voting"

Could you implement an easy voting system on Community Parks in the game?

I love the new changes to the Community Parks. I feel like the layouts are designed much better and flow really smoothly compared to previous seasons. Today, for example, the Hedgemont one had nice setups that I'd love to be implemented in the map or upcoming parts of the map in the future.

I was wondering if like a simple voting system wouldn't be useful to get feedback from the community on what is (dis)liked. It'll also give us a reason/incentive to check out the rotation of parks more frequently. And getting feedback from the community... isn't that what early access is all about?

  • I at least hope they do... but that's still not the best metric to measure how well a layout is.

  • Please allow the COMMUNITY to take part in deciding what's gonna be in the Community Parks. Some earlier seasons the community parks were absolutely horrible, with pointless bits, huge empty spaces, no flow. It often gave the feeling of something very unfinished.

  • Some parks have had a lot of climbing and weird stuff, so instead of just dropping by for 10 min, it takes 30 minutes  to check out. Like the winter park in Market Mile with loads of big jumps going nowhere. Felt like a random AI map with no plan.

Why not let people design their own parks? Then let the community vote.

Also maybe let people load in to one of the player made communityparks, like it's a small map of it's own. So it doesn't "crash" with the normal servers.

The player created parks is a separate discussion I feel like.

At least how I see the parks now is that they're testing new layouts to expand the maps/world. Some of the new parks seem to flow nicely, so it'd be nice to rate them so the map feels as if it's made with (and for) the active community. Don't see any downside whatsoever:

    • Add a thumbs up / thumbs down or 1–5 star rating after skating a Community Park.
    • Let players vote on specific things like flow, creativity, skateability, ...
    • Add a Featured Community Park rotation based on highly rated layouts.
  • The real life spots like the recent Wallenberg set are much appreciated by the community. I'm certain they would be voted highly...

  • I agree that player-created parks are a different topic entirely; it's even marked on the radar for the future roadmap after season 4, I guarantee they have a team testing dev there.

With the current parks, a voting system would allow more direct statistics on successful street or transition setups, most user-preferred objects, etc. Like DigitalWolf333 said, it's possible they already have a similar system in place undercover. It's easy in an engine to track player position, objects used, and time in community parks.

That being said, there are many who wish to see the game fail because they aren't patient enough or want something entirely different. Player-voted polls can always be griefed, and this could possibly hinder focused development at this point. If half the votes are made as a joke, it could heavily compromise genuine player feedback. There are plenty of examples of this over the years, and with the tumultuous feedback so far on the forums, I'd almost expect it at this point.

Perhaps a system could be established in which votes are weighted based on player trust, or a way to distinguish joke votes from real ones?

Love your idea of voting; balancing it, in my opinion, is the bigger issue.
