Feedback and a few ideas after a month of play as an old school fan
Hey there,
As a fan of Skate since Skate 1 dropped on 360, I’ve been playing this game online for about a month , and I wanted to share some thoughts and feedback.
Overall, I’m having a great time — the skating itself feels incredible. The control, the sound design, and the overall immersion are easily some of the best I’ve experienced in any skateboarding game. Just cruising around and hitting lines feels very satisfying.
That said, in my opinion there are a few things I think could make the experience even better:
- More Spots to Discover – The city is fun and has a great vibe, but after a while it starts to feel like I’ve seen everything. A few more hidden areas, DIY spots, or new sections to explore would really keep things fresh.
- A sort of Matchmaking / Lobby Sorting – It would be awesome to have some kind of matchmaking or lobby filter that groups players by playstyle. For example, some players prefer a more “arcade” approach (jumping off skyscrapers and going wild), while others go for a more “realistic” street or park skating vibe. Having dedicated lobbies or matchmaking options for these styles would help everyone find their crowd faster.
- Adding Game of SKATE to Throwdowns – The throwdowns are fun, but adding the classic Game of SKATE would be a perfect fit. It’s a staple of skating culture and would add a nice competitive-yet-chill option for players who just want to session with friends.
- Some sort of community system - Think of guilds in MMORPG's, the ability to create your own crew/team or whatever you want to call it would be great for getting together to play in the same style or even recording some clips/parts.
Overall, I’m really enjoying what’s here so far — the foundation feels solid. Just a few tweaks like these could take it from great to the best.
Keep up the awesome work!
