More realistic world / visuals
I understand that the art style was chosen to be inviting for new players, but the beauty of skateboarding doesn't flourish when it is invited and encouraged. Skateboarding's essence will always be countercultural, and the true beauty of skateboarding is expressing yourself in a world where you don't fit in. For the new area that is being built, i'd love a way more realistic experience... or at least similar to Skate 2, where the crazy unrealistic stuff fits in with the world. I want the city to feel like a city first, and skatepark second. Fun City was almost perfect! It had the perfect amount of realism and arcade. I'd love for the new area to have an Industrial district, a school, and downhill spots that AREN'T modified by wooden ramps and crazy mega structures. Maybe the game could have some areas where it is allowed (i.e. a megapark) but some areas deserve to shine for their mundanity. The beauty of the old games (again, i understand the new game is not related to the franchise) and why the entire franchise worked in the first place was because you were capable of being creative and truly expressing yourself in a world where you weren't allowed to. Don't get me wrong, skateboarding shouldn't be forbidden and criminalized, but it is definitely much more rewarding and authentic when the world around you serves as a city instead of a giant skatepark. When the world does all the creative work for you, it becomes boring pretty quickly. But when you do the creative work yourself, the world becomes much more vibrant and fun.
