Optimization over looks

I think it’s really important for games to feel great and preform really well no matter the hardware. I like the feel so far, but with it being online with lots of players on servers and newer games wanting high fidelity graphics can make players with older rigs and not as powerful computers at risk of not enjoying the game to the fullest. I don’t want to hinder the graphics for players that have the capability to play smoothly at higher settings but for everyone who can’t has to rely on lower settings being optimized properly. Easier said than done, I know, I just want to voice my thoughts and hope that games don’t focus solely on what looks good and instead on what matters in my eyes (gameplay for all players so all players can play the game)
