Skate Devs I Love you, hear me out tho
I really love the skate franchise and always have, this game has the bones of an absolutely amazing game the skating feels good (most of the time) and i love that multiplayer is a big part of it because i always thought skating with homies is more fun than solo. My next couple statements i’d like to be taken with a pinch of salt, i’m not a hater and i don't think its cool what people are doing online just purely trying to crap on the game cause it didn’t meet everyone’s expectations which is never possible anyway, i think skate has so much potential to be a legendary game that could survive for ages but there’s a couple things that could easily improve the game.
The fact that you can’t skate offline or solo is a bit wild but, i’m sure it’s easy to implement tho so i don’t want to harp on about that. I just really really really had such high hopes for this game in terms of the soul and story of it because it’s what made the other skate games so special, and unfortunately this game feels like it has had its soul sucked out, it honestly feels like an experiment to see how the suits of EA can maximise micro transactions and profit and do the bare minimum in terms of actually listening to players, for the people who have loved skate they are told they just have to suck it up because it’s still early access, man we all been waiting years for this game and it feels like the game just cares about money and not the players. I’m not trying to be a hater buy saying this but it’s just my honest observations
I don’t want to seem ungrateful but i’ve been playing for weeks and still haven’t been able to get plain white socks, and why the heck is there so many crop tops like if you go to a skatepark you wouldn’t see anybody in miniskirts and crop tops, and i’m all for inclusivity but seriously it’s like maybe 20% of the cosmetics are actually things skaters would wear and the rest is just so random.
I know it’s most likely not the devs fault but there’s just so many annoying things about the game that the other skates didn’t have so tbh i’d rather just play skate 2 or 3. I still have hope for this game because there’s a lot of room to improve and i trust that it will.
