What is the point of giving feedback if EA only listens to bug reports.

This is just my personal oppinion and none of this is meant to be disrespectful to any developers or the company itself, it is just how I feel about the game and how the company has been handling playtesting/feedback.

There are a lot of things wrong with this game and it's almost the opposite of what skate fans have been asking for and waiting 15 years for. I get this isn't skate 4 but in the games current state it just feels like a classic EA game that happens to have skateboarding in it.

One of the main things that people are complaining about is the lack of skate culture, but they have done nothing to fix that and it feels pointless even asking for it now. Micro transactions seem to be the main focus over any basic gameplay mechanics and the game just isn't going to hold up if that's always going to be the main priority. I get they have to make money but the whole game already feels like a quick cash grab and it's not even in beta yet.

There are definetely a lot of harsh statements being thrown out, but there's also a lot of good ideas and genuinely helpful feedback that EA chooses to ignore most likely because it doesn't financially benifit them, at least that's what it feels like at this point.

I understand that development takes time and I have nothing against the developers as I know they are just doing what they are told. I just think that whoever is taking lead on this game needs to take a serious look at the feedback the community is giving before people stop bothering to give it.

    Hey there,

Thank you for your report. I understand your point, and I recognise that this is a frustrating situation. I can assure you that my colleagues and I escalate not only bug reports but also community feedback.

However, bug reports are usually a priority, as they are game-breaking, while issues like "a lack of skate culture" can be addressed over time. I understand that this is probably not the response you expected, but sometimes in the world of video game development, certain things take priority over others, which can be frustrating.

I would also like to add to your comment that realistically it depends on the priority and workflow of any context. If something gets a lot of engagement on here, I’m sure you’ll take the feedback far more seriously due to it having a clearly higher priority from the community at large. Whether that be from a single thread having many pings in the discussion or multiple threads being made of the same topic.

Btw, been enjoying the work on the game, thank you for your efforts!

I understand that and I appreciate the response. Again none of this is intended to be disrespectful to anyone currently working on the game, I'm just very passionate about the franchise. Wish you all the best.

  • I have been contributing around here for a long time, but I’ve fallen into the “stop bothering to give it” category.

I have made many threads and commented on countless more. I’ve tried to highlight the good and the bad, along with ideas on how to fix the things that aren’t working or are dividing the player base - critical, but constructive contributions. However, I have encountered very little evidence that those contributions are even looked at. By contrast, threads from relative newcomers like yourself tend to receive quick responses from the dev team.

It’s hard to escape the impression that somewhere along the way, the voices of forum regulars has been taken as mood music to be tuned out/deprioritised, instead of being viewed as insights from a dedicated player base - in my case, of both the franchise and the new title. I want this game to succeed and I’ve tried in earnest over many, many months to provide useful feedback. But, nothing gets through and nothing changes.
