we need a STORY!!!
Why We Need a Story Mode
Right now Skate feels like it’s missing a purpose. You can skate around and do missions, but none of it really feels meaningful. A story mode would give the game direction, structure, and a reason to keep playing instead of just doing random tasks.
The Skate Journey
Skateboarding in real life is about progression. You start as a beginner, learn tricks, fail, get back up, and slowly get better until you can hold your own. A story mode should capture that same journey — starting as a nobody and building up to become a professional skater. That’s the whole point of skate culture, and the game should reflect that.
Competitions, Sponsors, and Culture
A good story mode would also let us experience the bigger picture of skateboarding. Entering competitions, earning sponsors from real brands, skating with a crew, and slowly making a name for yourself. That progression makes skating feel rewarding in a way free skate alone never will.
Characters and Personality
One of the best things about Skate 3 was the characters. Coach Frank made the game fun and gave it personality. Having memorable characters that guide you, challenge you, or skate alongside you would make the story mode feel alive and connected to skateboarding culture.
Maps and Exploration
A story could also make the world feel more alive. Different maps or areas could unlock as you progress — indoor parks, outdoor plazas, mega ramps, rooftops, alleys, and hidden spots. That variety would keep the game fresh and give more reasons to explore.
The Bigger Picture
At the end of the day, Skate needs a story mode because it makes everything come together. It makes skating feel purposeful, rewarding, and connected to skate culture. Without a story, the game risks feeling like just an empty sandbox. With one, it could become the best skateboarding game ever.
