Who made this? and for who?

Clearly no real skateboarders were consulted during development. The vibe is like a skateboarders idea of scooter kids but in a skateboarding game. The AI voiceover is cringy and beyond annoying. The forced online nature of the game creates jank that didn't exist in previous Skate games. Replay editor is barebones and janky beyond belief. Then on top of all of that the fundamental physics of the game are inconsistent and again, janky.

I get its early access but after 4 years development and numerous complaints from people about the art style over the years we get this cringefest? Turns out it wasn't just the art style that was lacking, it was style in general.

It could be fun if I wasn't constantly reminded by the game that this is much worse than Skate 1, 2 & 3.

Yes, this is been highlighted to the devs since playtesting started. No on is listening.

Such a shame for such a long awaited game. 15 years for Skate 4 to be released, and we get this?!

I'd rather pay £50.00 for a good Skate game than has this for F2P.

  • Agreed. I dont even have enough time or energy to describe how disappointed I am in this trashy attempt of a game. Obviously everyone is different and people have a different taste to me. And probably by now the game would maybe (!!!) appeal to the younger generation? But for me personally... I think it is terrible. What happened to just raw skateboarding? I'm just so grateful that I didn't have to pay any money for it. So, thank you to the devs for that! I'd honestly rather pay a lot of money for Skate 3 again, if they would just re-release it on the new consoles.

  • you do know the reason why it took so long and why it isn't like the other ones is because the original studio that made this all happen got shut down even though it was a part of EA, they hired different people for the new studio and only a few people from the original studio came back to help make this one, not to mention they're still updating it so it's not like the final product I feel like people are forgetting that a lot, us the players of the game are like the new game testers for them to see what they need to end up fixing in the future plus they're adding a lot of cool ideas in the next couple of updates oh and a thing you should know they had a few people do all these tricks in a tracking suit they hired actual skateboarders to do all these tricks for us and they're adding newer tricks as well from people in skateboard videos or competitions just thought you should know all of this

  • This game is not made for 40 years old skateboarders who were waiting for a release of what you called Skate 4. Its not Skate 4 and it was never meant to be that. Its a modern game that brings skating back to the gaming scene and its absolutely amazing so far.

I get that this game isn't made for 40 year old Skate fans (despite the use of the Skate name) but skateboard culture isn't inherently cringy now. This game makes it seem like it is. Where the previous games would get people interested in skateboarding, I feel like this would actively repel people from it.
