Multiple Accounts unable to play on same network - EA APP - Star Wars BF2

Hello!  I bought myself and (2) sons Star Wars Battlefront 2 for our computers so we can all play together.  We're in the same room on one internet connection, and just looking to play together for a good bonding experience (LAN party!).

However, we keep receiving error Code 216, 512, and 721 regarding network / LAN issues.  I'm tried Port Triggering and Port forwarding, assigning each computer a static IP address, and turning off Windows Firewall.  All with no success. Any suggestions!?  Could really use some help with this one.  Thanks!

I found (2) solutions, both not cheap.  I bought a new router (Asus Rog Rapture GT-AX11000) and VPN worked. Did not contact my ISP provider.  The new router fixed the issue

  • When assigning a static IP, it is likely an IP behind your firewall (i.e. NATing). What the game servers are seeing is your one internet-facing IP (the one your ISP provided). While I cannot say for sure, I'm wondering if the SWBF2 servers are having a tough time figuring out which of the devices behind your firewall to communicate with. While you would think port forwarding would address this, I'm not so sure.

If you haven't already, remove the port forwarding, etc. and try playing on each device by itself and see if each device has the issues.

Darth, first off, greatly appreciate your suggestion!  This past weekend, I removed the port forwarding and port triggering settings, left windows firewall off, and even turned off static IP (probably not a good idea but not sure what else to do).  Each of the (4) machines can access the game servers by themselves; however, in a party (2) devices get kicked out with a LAN-related error code every time.

Next, have ordered a new router (had Netgear nighthawk, going with Asus Rog Rapture) and will use a VPN if I have to.  Might even contact my ISP provider to see if they have a solution (not holding my breath).  I’m wondering if UPnP could be a problem, but don’t know much about that.

The solution there would be for them to assign a static IP for each of the devices you want to play the game with. I can't say this would work for sure, but would be worth trying, if you can.

Getting a new router may fix the issue, but I doubt it.

I don't think "multiple devices in the same household" was a primary use case when DICE made the game.

The fact that you have to buy an entirely new piece of equipment to solve this issue is absurd.
