Q/A Please Answer (SWBF2)

What Do You Think? Hero/Villain Weaknesses? Did They End The Battlefront Franchise Too Early?

I know the developers have completely ended the game and all (which is stupid, they are SO not done), so they can’t change or add all the good ideas we, as a community, have come up with. Still, does the Smart Ion Grenade do more damage to General Grievous, like as a weakness. All heroes/villains should have an ACTUAL weakness infantry can exploit, not just being better at the game and/or knowing how to can counteract abilities. You need like 10 people minimum to take down a good player and like 30 to take down a good player as Vader (exaggeration, but you get my meaning). I know this can’t be added, but what do you guys think?

  • @ReefzYT You’re not wrong; sadly the Devs tried (with what they thought) was a solution by adding the enforcer / aerial / infiltrator classes. Unfortunately this whole game is badly imbalanced.

These 3 categories are some of the most broken in the game. They were supposed to help balance out large multiplayer mode games but it had the opposite effect, the games were even more broken.

The hero & villain characters aren’t balanced either. Some like Han & Luke are OP whilst others like Lando & BB-9 are poor.

Most of the Hero & Villain characters have weaknesses but in order to take advantage of them you either need: another hero or villain, an enforcer / aerial / infiltrator, or you need a small squad of infantry.

@VetteC5RXI’ve been trying to get SWBF2 for years. I finally saved up enough money and got permission from my father, but when I found out the franchise was over, I was devastated. My new laptop hasn’t come yet, meaning I can’t even play anymore. I’m what you would call a nerd, so now my only hope (excuse the pun) is that, later on, we will convince them come back to the franchise.

  • @ReefzYT Sorry to hear that.

For what it’s worth I would suggest taking a look at Battlefront 2015. There are less characters but the gameplay is better and more stable.

as for new Star Wars games, Ubisoft & Massive announced that they’re already in development of a large, open world, Star Wars game so even though EA & DICE won’t be making the next game another one is coming.

  • It's funny how different people think different heros/ units are unbalanced.  I think it depends on who is in control of them.  Over time you figure out which unit's / weapons are best to combat other units/ weapons.

Personally I'm surprised they updated/ developed this game as long as they did.  They definitely developed it longer than Battlefront 1.

@xX-GORELANDER-Xx  When we talk about balance we use game testing processes which, basically, take user differences out of the equation and looks to compare and contrast how each character and mechanic interacts with one another.

you’re totally right that in game experiences will depend on whom is controlling which character. But when we’re talking about balance the optimum situation is that characters see an even balance to their attributes, this way the primarily factor in gameplay result comes down to the player.

in the case of this game, the balance isn’t there because characters have such a broad difference in attribute, values, & mechanics; before any player use is introduced; that the game is heavily imbalanced.

this really hurts a game like BF2 because SW is such a massive global franchise. One aspect players would enjoy is the ability to use a variety of characters and/or their favorite characters without penalty. Unfortunately that isn’t the case, depending on the game environment and which characters the opponents have chosen dictate more of the decision as to which character or class a player should choose if they want to meet the objective.
