Unable to activate SW:BF2???

Bought this game on epic games like 2-3 years ago, have somewhat around 50 hours on it and for some reason, when I reinstalled it earlier this year, I have been unable to play as it keeps bringing up...

    After some more troubleshooting, I was able to launch the game while using a VPN

I am also having this same issue. I have uninstalled the game twice now. I got this game years ago and wanted to play again. Here is a screenshot of the same issue as OP.
