EA won't touch it with a ten-foot pole because of the microtransaction hellscape controversy of their own making. This is a shame because the current state of Battlefront 2 is exceptional, excepting the low player count.
If EA had sold map packs for $15 a pop like in the good old days, I would have been on board. But that's just me.
The other option would be purely cosmetics purchases, remaining in lore. But yeah, sadly, I don't think EA or anyone else wants to touch it because of the stigma.
