4,270 error Squadrons

Hours spent searching for a fix. Hours wasted trying to get a friend playing the same game. All threads querying this very, very common error seem to be closed by mods.

Does anyone have a solution? It seems to have been a problem for 5 years now.

Both playing on Steam, EA accounts are linked to steam accounts.
