These weapons have ruined the game. It had taken all skill and fun out if what could have been a cool dogfighting skill based game. 5 people just com and ping targets and you are dead faster than you can say wtf. Why did they do this? Yea you can puck a higher dps aim weapon but its futile when 5 guys with auto aim targets you. If all weapons were aim based you would have a much higher chance even with 5 people of you if you did maneuvers and speed. This is just game breaking nonsense to give what ? Children a chance? Or people insistent on using hotas an easier time at aiming? Worst decision ever.

The game is a shell with no support that's the problem. I wish there was a hardcore mode with no in flight assists turned on and no auto aim weapons that would be amazing and realistic but the devs wont support the game or make new content, as they keep saying this is all we get. i can't believe we don't even have a NON ranked fleet battles so we can pick our faction like in dog fight.

Kill cam are misleading. I was an imp bomber with rot guns and over and over a y wing head on always killed me. Even when i followed him shooting in back they just did nit bloody die. I assume this might have something to do with shields. I just wish this game was pure aim as the simulation it likes to claim it is should be.

@court_jester77x I strongly disagree, if you are tailed by even a semi skilled player, the added guiding mechanism is just game breaking. You simply can't outmanoeuvre it fast enough. ( mainly referring to the guided rotary lasers)

@court_jester77x Forgot to add that if you go head to head and try an evasive move against an opponent with guided weapons, again especially the rotary type, he will shred you.

@MKh501 If you are getting tailed by bombers you have bigger problems than autoaim weapons. And why on earth would you want to do evasive moves head on against incoming damage that is already halved. Just go straight guns blazing and vaporize the guy.

@court_jester77x I try avoiding head ons as I like to survive as long as possible. Also, if (hopefully) they add a hard core mode, head ons will be decided on which one fires first, possibly killing both as the instant you fire, you need to bank away and that is really tricky.

@MKh501The bomber has basically no other option than a head on once he gets attacked. He can not outmaneuver an a-wing, the only thing he can do is boost away, do a 180 drift, and head on his attacker. Using a weapon with half DPS is a suicide here.

The only way autoaim rotary gives any advantage is if the bomber is left alone and fires from range at a target that's already busy fighting someone else. And then only if the player is a newbie with bad aim.

I have tried the autoaim rotary before and dropped it like a hot potato, because i simply could not do enough damage in the short time window you usually have against a competent pilot. Full-DPS rotary on the other hand often kills an a-wing before he even realizes he's taking damage.

@court_jester77x Ok, well, I'm having the opposite experience and I can tell you I'm not alone in my squad. To conclude, I just think it shouldn't be in the game at all.
