Game freezes and crashes during matches, constantly.

For the past week or so, I have been having these random crashes during matches. There is nothing wrong with my computer, the specs are more than enough to handle the game. No over heating or anything. I cant find any other forum posts dealing with this problem. The screen will freeze, it will take as long as a few seconds to a minute or longer until the screen blacks out and then a loading box comes up to try and troubleshoot/fix the problem. This problem is never fixed, so I sends a report to EA.

Some days are worse than others and some days I don't have any problems at all. My connection is rarely ever a problem, it might drop for a few seconds during random matches but nothing that would have me believe it is anything on my end. Everything is updated, I check for updates every time there is a crash and also repair after each crash. I have also reinstalled and found this hasn't worked either.

I hope someone can look into this. I'm not pulling my hair out about it yet, but when kids are talking smack because I'm schooling them, then suddenly my game freezes.. I cant help but notice the excessive twitch in my eye and the massive vein pulsing on my forehead. Im afraid what comes next is blood pouring out of my nose and to take origins offer of getting my money back on the game since there is logically no reason to pay for something I cant play.

I don't mind the terribly balanced teams since I kill whole teams on my own anyway, but if I cant even enjoy that because of these crashes then I'm outty 500.

What are your in-game graphics settings?  I am asking this because even though you believe your PC is well above specs, it is actually borderline under spec.  This is because even though you have an i7, it is a laptop processor that is clocked alot slower @ 2.60Ghz, and your 960M is actually under spec.  You are also right at minimum for the RAM @ 8GB.

    Minimum PC System Requirements

OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
    Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T @ 3.3Ghz or equivalent
    Memory: 8GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB

Here is the comparison of the minimum GTX 660 vs GTX 950M (your GPU):  http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-960M-vs-GeForce-GTX-660

Can you please post a DXdiag report so we can help assist you to see if there is anything we see in it that may be causing any issues?  Thanks.

    well....... damn.

I keep all my settings as low as possible to get the best performance.

I haven't had any troubles of any kind up until the update so,

I guess I have reached my limit then from what you're telling me? aha

  • @Yodaliciouss

Yea I hate to tell users that their PC is not as great as they thought.  Thank you though for taking it so well.  99.99% of the time I tell people that, they get pissed off and rant at me, so I really appreciate your reaction.

However, one idea that may help you with your crashes (even though I know it is not a preferred way to play) is to switch your "Display Mode" option from Fullscreen to either "Borderless Windowed Mode" or "Windowed Mode".  Borderless Windowed Mode would be the best of the two as you will only get the small bar on the top of the screen and a very thin border around the rest of the screen.  Windowed mode will have this and also the taskbar will show up at the bottom, so it is not as appealing to play with.

Well you took the time out of your day to help me so I can only be grateful. In the end,

its just a game and I only really get on to try and work my way to a 2.0 K/D from my 1.72 lol

The only reason I got the china made trash of a laptop is because my dad asked for my old

computer in exchange for whatever was at bestbuy aaand this was the best they had as far

as laptops went so I grabbed it.

Funny thing is, they told me it would easily play StarCitizen!!! lolol I might not have the best

knowledge of rigs but I sure as hell know when someone is blowing smoke up my * and

you sir.. were not doing that. you've been very helpful and to the point. I don't think I could

have asked for better assistance, even from EA :P

I haven't even heard a word from them so actually, you HAVE given me better assistance

than them hahaha but seriously, thanks for all the help mate!

  • @Yodaliciouss

No problem, I enjoy helping people out, and especially people like you.  I'm glad I could help you out with this.

Give the other ideas I gave you (the Borderless windowed mode or Windowed Mode) a try and let me know if that helped your crashing issue at all.

And your laptop is decent for a laptop, but laptops just are not the greatest for gaming.

Shall do! yea, I've had my eye on some of the origin pcs but I just don't have the funds for something like that atm. ill mark this as solved since its obvious my specs aren't up to par but ill post whether or not the window/borderless window helped any when I get back on tomorrow incase others come to the thread with the same questions :d

Hi, I have the same problem; the game crashes and freezes during matches, constantly, but only since a week or two.

The file is DXDiag of my laptop and I know that it is far away from the minimum requirements, but I had tried demo and everything gone good. I bought the game in Day One and play for 2 months without problems. No more on Februar.

My answer is easy: is it possible that my pc support the game for months and than suddenly works no more?

Sorry for the bad english or mistakes and thanks for the future answer.
