VR Performance Very Bad = Makes Me Sick, Headaches. Why is it so bad?

What happens when the bug occurs? low frame rate, stuttering images, I feel sick and the game gives me a headache, I become upset that i had planned to play this game this weekend, which i why i bought it, and now i wont have another chance until next week.
What do you expect to see? smooth visuals that do not cause physical discomfort/pain

    @SupaDupaN00bThat better not be the case. Super disappointing if so. The biggest draw of using a Valve Index to play this game is for me the prospect of 144hz flight.
    If it is the case, it would need to be stated on the Steam page store description...

    @FeIewin Well, there's no chance that this game could run at 120fps on a PS4 with any sort of decent fidelity. I don't know much about PSVR but the panel is 120hz so a 60fps cap with a form of re-projection is probably how it works. If so then for Oculus a maximum of 45fps is available and 60fps for Index etc with time warping/re-projection.

    This has been highlight for over a week and these problems are at the top of the bug forums but are not even acknowledged as a fps cap, only as choppy play which really is making think that there is an intentional cap which they hoped would be playable with motion smoothing and motion blurring techniques.

    I would love nothing better than to be wrong.

    Just to note, this is a differed issue to the refresh rate bug. I can hold frames perfect but there is still frame doubling creating a stutter

    If the internal engine is running at 60hz to accommodate PlayStation this CANNOT be fixed for PC, it would mess-up the timing of the game when increased (ironically old x-wing alliance took an age & very clever reverse engineering to solve a similar issue), I don't believe they will sort this.  Considering standard PC VR runs at 80/90 hz (Oculuc) or 90/120/144 (Valve) etc etc at the moment this is simply not designed for PC VR & E.A. should acknowledge this & warn people before purchase....SHOCKING

    @DeltreeZero still waiting for any confirmation about all this seemingly solid speculation from ea. if it is true that this situation will never change for pc vr, that will be another massive shame for the players, for star wars, and for yet another squandered attempt to make something great. why would you make a game from the ground up to be a vr crossplay title, advertise specifically the vr nature of the game, and make a stupid choice like only care about what the play effing station vr experience is like. this better not be the case... i need a patch to happen. right now. please dont ruin this before it begins, ea. please?

    Until EA says otherwise, acknowledges everyone is actually experiencing this, and flat out tells us that a real fix is actually coming, I have assumed this is a limitation of allowing crossplay with this engine. The game is only functioning at 60fps tops, regardless of the duped frames it sends out to match your monitor/hmd. 

    EA STOP BEING SILENT AND TALK TO US ABOUT THIS

    @DeltreeZero Well, there goes two weekends in a row with no fix, and no admittance of this issue from ea. see you all next weekend i guess.

    Some people on Reddit say that beta testers reported this two months ago and it still hasn't been been fixed. I get the feeling this was done by design and we won't get a fix.

    I'm sure they knew about the issue and quite possibly wrote it to perform like this on purpose.   I just wish they mentioned it before I bought the game.  Some games say VR is in "beta" until they get this stuff sorted out. Early access reviewers claiming it was the most amazing VR experience ever didn't help.  I just upgraded my PC (CPU and motherboard).   When I booted it up, I thought something was wrong with my new setup before I even got past the hanger.  This was in pancake mode.  I immediately noticed the framerate was messed up and there was screen tearing.   Once I got my HOTAS setup, I tried VR and made one turn in my x-wing and was disappointed.   I should have refunded that instance, but I messed around with my settings, which caused my HOTAS to go back to default.  By the time I was done experimenting I went past the refund hours.  At this point I play against the AI in co-op every once in a while just so I can keep up with the community and unlock new components.  

    I've got a HP Reverb G2 pre-ordered, basically for this game.  My only hope is the WMR asynchronous reprojections has less ghosting than Oculus AWS.  Seems like that's the only way to play and keep the motions smooth.  The cockpit and reticule artifacts mess with my head too, but I'm more likely to get used to that than the stuttering.  

    I actually wish they had microtransactions in this game.  Maybe it would encourage them to support it and keep the community around.  If it's not fixed by the time Cyberpunk comes out, I bet a lot of PC players will move on.
