Re: [RESOLVED] PC Code (3rd party) redeemed - Game not in EA app library

Hey,, the subject in on the title. I redeemed a cd key for this game, but it won't show up in my library. I did try to activate the key and it's telling me it was already redeemed.

Accepting as solution for visibility purposes.

    Hi everyone,

We see some confusion among some players regarding that they can no longer find their copy of STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™️ in their EA app Game Library after entering a code for the game.

    This can have several causes:

    • A code for the actual, base, game was never redeemed, but only a code for the Pre-Order and/or Deluxe Edition items
      • Please contact the store where you bought the code, we cannot help you with this
    • The code was entered into another EA account
    • Something is wrong with the actual code
      • Please contact the store where you bought the code, we cannot help you with this
    • Something is wrong with your EA app cache or the EA app itself
      • Please try to reboot the EA app via the hamburger menu in the top-left corner > Help > Restart app
      • Please follow these steps to clear the EA app cache
      • Alternatively, please try to reinstall the EA app

If none of these are the case, please mention here in the thread where you've bought the code, or contact the customer service team at https://help.ea.com/contact-us to check available support options. Unfortunately, we can't help you with these kinds of problems via the forums.

Please note: Origin is no longer supported for Windows.

    Good luck.

Sorry, but this is clearly not the case, I followed the instructions to install an older version of Origin and with the same account I can see the game in my library and install it, however it doesn't show up in the EA app. Deleting the cache doesn't work not only for me but for the majority of other players. It is a problem with the EA app itself. Can you verify please that I have the game associated with this account as I am 100% it is.

  • I have the same issue with jedi survivor. Bought a cd key around 11am today and it was successfully redeemed in EA Play. after click install the game, it said 'preparing the game' and EA Play crashed. After restarting, the game is gone from my library and I cannot redeem the code again!

I tried all the fixes and also chatted with EA. They could see the key is linked to my account but not showing up in EA Play. Also tried a different PC with same account. Help!! I want to play this game.

@EA_Leeuw  I am sorry but there is no confusion. I am sure at least 95% of us have the same problem and it not on our side.
We redeem an official code (either from AMD or bought) and then cancel the download (because it stays on preparing or too little space or whatever).
After that the game doesn't show up in the library and we have no way to download it again. The code is linked to our accounts and can't be redeemed anymore.
    Clearing cache does NOT work.
Installing an old version of Origin seems to work to find the game in your library, but I would rather just stay with the up to date EA app.
    Hopefully this can be fixed

  • @EA_Leeuw Like almost everyone else, I redeemed a valid code (mine from CD KEys), The game activated and started the download processes, as normal. the game was stuck on preparing so cancelled the download it's not there in my library and I cannot redeem the code again.

I Chatted with an EA advisor who confirmed the game was in my library and went through the process of clearing the cache uninstalling the app etc.  I am now stuck with spending £40 on a game that I currently cannot play or even see.

The issue is not with the customers, the codes or where they purchased this from, the issue is with EA.

  • Hi there,

I've had the same issue of a code not appearing after being redeemed. I've cleared my cache multiple times, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and checked to make sure it wasn't a pre-order bonus. Despite this, I still cannot access the game in my EA app library. If its any use, I got the game code from CD Keys and when I entered it it gave me the option to install the game, but due to a lack of storage I wanted to delay the install. Now I apparently don't own the game since it's not in my library.

  • Hi mine key was from AMD CPU reward, it showed up to install but I didn't at that time, now its gone, but does show up on older Origin software ? Its EA fault server side ?

  • EA doesn't care, like at all. they force you to use a beta app instead of finishing the app before forcing everyone on it, I downloaded an old version of Origin, and boom, there the game is in all of it's glory. But not in EA App, which means one thing: the EA App is just F**ed and won't actually let you play the game until a patch comes out or something.. because i definitely have the game through Origin (aka EA APP) but it only shows in Origin..

for those who managed to play with origin, can you send the file you installed origin with? Thank you

  • None of the suggestions from EA works. Now I don't even have a game in my library. Please fix this.

when I try to use an old version of origin i get a warning from ea that they don't use it anymore.

    anyone know how to fix?

  • Same thing, if anyone has a solution so that it can be played at least on origin, it wold be appreciated

  • The solution posted by @Cryptobiosis worked for me and now i'm installing the game on Origin, it's temporary but at least it work. Here's what he wrote:

    Hello,

I believe I have found one workaround to the issue. I was also having this issue after getting a code from GameStop, and it was not appearing in the EA app.

The workaround: I installed an old version of Origin and the game appeared there.

For the workaround, this means uninstalling the EA app altogether.

Then, I downloaded and installed Origin 10.5.99 from https://origin.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions and logged in normally. During the setup of Origin, I turned off automatic updates of Origin.

Jedi Survivor appeared just fine in the old version of Origin (see attached image).

This should help if you're hoping to play the game right at this moment. Of course, it doesn't fix the EA app issue itself, but it's just a temporary workaround I found.

No amount of relaunching, reinstalling, refreshing the library, or clearing the cache helped. Did all of those many times. Deleting the EA app and reinstalling Origin worked, and I'm now downloading the game. This is clearly an issue with the EA app.

  • I’m having the same issue as well, two days now, raised with EA no response yet it’s been 2 days.

Bought third party key redeemed successfully, game was preparing download for close to an hour before I cancelled to try again and to my surprise the game wasn’t and still isn’t in my EA pc app games library however is in my list of games when I login to EA via website, don’t BS customers who justifiably want access to the items they’ve purchased.

Any help would be appreciated, rather than go to the distributor, distributor response is wait for EAs response as you’re having technical problems apparently.

    Apparently that’s true.
