Thanks for reporting. Does this also happen after you restart the game?

Could you provide some images of the plants being in the way?

I have the same issue.  Restart doesn’t solve the issue.  Allowing all plants to grow doesn’t solve the issue!  I have attached two photos which show a small plant next to the footprint of the large plant. 

Hover over the small plant and it gives the plant details and option to weed.  Hover over the large plant and nada!
