Solved

The app couldn't connect to servers

Hello,

Bought game on Steam, when trying to lunch it opens EA app, waits for some time and then there is window pops up as on screenshot.

Tried to do app recovery in EA app and re-scan local files in Steam and add all suggested exe files to firewall whitelist - without progress.

    Possible Fix:

I was running the portmaster firewall on my system. Disabling it completely fixed this issue for me, even though it showed no connections being blocked for the EA app. Weird. If you're having the same issue, try disabling any 3rd party firewalls you have installed on your system. Hopefully this solves it.

    Hey @Qunvis,

    Please make sure that you're:

    • Not connected to any kind of VPN
    • That your Anti-Virus and Windows Firewalls are not blocking the game, EA app or Steam
      • Our suggestion is to make sure the following processes are explicitly whitelisted in the Windows Firewall (inbound & outbound) while doing a clean boot (this is better for troubleshooting):

        • EABackgroundService.exe

        • EAConnect_microsoft.exe

        • EADesktop.exe

        • EALocalHostSvc.exe

        • EASteamProxy.exeLink2EA.exe

    • Sure that you've sufficient Windows Administrator Privileges to launch the game

Let us know how it goes.

  • I'm having the exact same issue. Tried the same troubleshooting steps, still broken. I can see "JediSurvivor" launch and immediately crash in task manager before this error pops up. I can also see the EA app successfully reaching out to the servers. Seems like its not actually a network issue.

Thanks very much, I also checked postmaster and it was all green for EA.
Disabling it completely made it work.
The EA app seems still have same issue but the game started.

    Thanks!

  • Up until today, I have been able to play Star Wars Survivor, but today I get the same message as the person shared the picture of above.  I checked the firewall settings and they are enabled for EA as you listed.  I haven't made modifications to my PC, and I don't have problems connecting to the internet or other none EA online games.

  • I had the same issue, turns out I had to completely uninstall NordVPN and it worked for me after that.  Even if it wasnt running it still had issues.

  • Hey, I tried all the above solutions nothing worked, but then I just simply uninstalled the Ea app then reinstalled it and it worked perfectly.
    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Hello! Just had this issue. Exiting/Closing the Malwarebytes app did the trick for me. Wouldn't think of it without reading the possible fix comment.
