"An error occurred" when trying to reset password

I haven't played in years. I try to reset my password and it tells me "an error occurred." That's it. It gives me no other information. I have a physical security key.

  • same boat here. returning to play, it said the pw i had written down didnt work, so i try and reset it, but all i get is "an error has occurred." i have a working security key. its weird cuz it my main account where i sub up when i return, but it wont work. my free second account (with no security key), however, works fine. i see a lot of posts saying the same thing, and no help from EA.  all i get from the phone number is a message saying they are busy and it hangs up.  we cant contact them by email either, or get a live chat tech. i mean, if u didnt want us to pay for the xpac and sub up again, congratulations, u win EA.

Did you call outside their business hours for phone support?  That's the only thing I can see that would cause it.  Unfortunately for security purposes they only assist with account issues via phone.
