Connection error

That error can be due to a server ban from steam chargeback 

If you think its due to that call swtor support when the lines are open, they can lift the ban once if its the first time otherwise its a perma ban

If another account logs in ok, thats a good indication its the steam ban

Thanks for replying. But I don't use Steam to access Swtor. And I haven't done a chargeback at all. But I think I will call them tomorrow.

Well things aren't working so good. A rundown of TSing that I have done so far.

1. Contacted Swtor support today and found that my account is NOT banned. And the CS actually logged into the game on my account and it worked fine. That definitely points to the problem being on my end of the internet.

2. Reset my cable modem and router and my PC and restarted them in the proper order.

3. Tried to repair the Swtor game files (with the help of CS).

4. Uninstalled the game and downloaded a new launcher setup.exe from the Swtor website. Reinstalled the game from scratch. And it's still coming up with a connection error.

5. I use Windows Defender as Virus Protection and checked the settings for it and Star Wars is listed as a program that is ALLOWED. But my Firewall is turned ON. Like I said, this has worked just fine before Sunday night.

I am pulling my hair out at this point. This worked fine on Saturday. Anyone have new suggestions for a fix? Please.

what happens if you create a new swtor account, same issue ? 

Routing issues should resolve on their own, but when is how longa piece of string is, most resolve within 48 hrs 

using a VPN may give an indication this is the issue

Yeah this is just ridiculous. Tried the VPN and no help. I am going to check my Router tonight but have to wait til wife is not using Internet and cable TV lol. Never had a game do this before and I am at a loss for ideas.

BTW I reinstalled again...why can I go through the whole install process, downloading files, get into the launcher and login, just to get a connection error as it goes to the character select screen? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Especially since CS used my account to login and actually play one of my toons. Up until today I hadn't changed a **bleep** thing to my setup when this started to happen. Mind boggling

Star Forge has been having issues the last few days

Only tried the English language ones and couldn't access those either. Same connection error.

I don't know if this will help or not but CS asked me to send them a DXDiag report. Judging from their reply it looks like they didn't even read it. It was a pretty canned response. Nothing specific. One thing I hadn't tried before was to flush my DNS cache. I did that and it didn't help.

Anyways here is the DXDiag if you have time to take a look at it. Again thanks for the help Prox.

What needs to occur is to narrow down the cause of the connection issue 

to me only way to do that is 2 fold at moment, try logging into a server on another computer connected to your internet and see if the same issue occurs

conversely take your computer to another persons internet, preferably a different ISP and see if the same issue occurs, and see if a different computer on a different computer has the same issue

One thing you can try initially is disconnect your computer from your home internet and tether your mobile phone to the computer and access the internet via your mobile gsm network ( so dont use home internet wifi on the mobile either) and see if the issue still occurs

Well a new development here. I installed SWTOR on a different PC, on the SAME network and was able to log in np. So I think this narrows the problem down to just this one PC and not the network. 

I have been meaning to update this PC to Win11 for awhile now. So I went ahead and did that, hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn't help. 

Now that we know it's just on this PC, can you make any suggestions as to what to look for? Again, thanks for your time and consideration Proxos.
