crashing when hovering on map icons

Have you tried installing this particular directx and see if it has any affect on this ?

wouldn't it already be installed? It's a pretty new computer. Only got it in November so I wouldn't think it would be as old as that date listed.

No it likely isn't , this will add some D3D9Ex files likely missing , later versions handled differently and emulated, this wont affect or change what you have installed currently just place those files back.

I'll look into that. 🤔   For whatever its worth, I have finally resorted to hacking the registry to turn off the search for driver updates. Last resort. I know the driver itself is an intel issue but forcing it on me I blame Microsoft for (and why have the settings if they will ignore them?) If they weren't doing that, workarounds until its fixed or patched would be fine.
One thing is for sure...its not just SWTOR. I was poking of windows forum on the subject when some poor WOW player announced the intel driver windows 10 update broke his game. (and of course they suggested a rollback and of course I'm knowing exactly how that will go.) Intel has apparently made many angry gamers. I suppose the only good thing about that is the more of us are griping about broken games - more than one game, from more than one company - the more likely they are to do something instead of blaming it on the individual game or its makers.

Intel released a beta driver here 11 days ago and fixes several game crash issues , so figured to see if anyone has tried this to see if it helps this issue

KEY ISSUES FIXED:

Just Cause 3 - game crash
Microsoft Enhanced Video Renderer - API crash
Project CARS - game crash
F1 2015 - game crash during built-in benchmark
Angry Birds - corruption after using “Maximize” icon in game window

Quake IV - corruption resuming from standby mode
Fallout 4 - game crash when game is loading
LEGO Minifigures Online - command list reset lock takes long time (4th & 5th Gen)
Wolfenstein The New Order - game crash

Well, i have exactly the same problem. dell inspirion 5000. 

Intel 5500 chip-set. 

I've tried installing the latest and the one proxos666 linked. didn't helped. 

if anyone found a solution it would be great ☹️

see, i can't. only the drivers on the dell site are compatible. stupid dell.

for now, i've discovered that if i don't move anything when opening the map, it won't crash. 

btw, i can use the touch screen just fine when i'm the map, it's just moving the mouse or the char that crashes it 

The new Beta does not fix SWTOR according to the thread on the SWTOR forums.

Rolling back to the version of the drivers released in September fixed mine for my Surface Pro 3. The October and November releases did not work at all.

This should be the version, I'm testing it myself now:

What worked for me was I had to rollback my driver and it stopped the crashing now the problem is now no matter how I set up my graphics I get flickering textures fro Hi-def textures to low it is so annoying that it makes the game almost un-playable, glad I am done with this game these guys cant even get basic graphics to working correctly...

Ok just tried & tested it on Tatooine "which is where I got the flickering REAL bad" and it fix it not one flicker THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Now the game is playable again lol.... Thanks again...
