If you are playing on Steam, usually to link the SWTOR account to your Steam account, you would need to download the game from Steam, then launch the game from your library, and once you enter your SWTOR credentials, it will link both accounts
So if you are getting a message asking you to use the right Steam account, that would mean that your Steam ID is already linked with a different SWTOR account.
When you log on to the SWTOR website, under Overview, do you see a Steam account linked? Or is it possible that you already have a different SWTOR account ?
