Can you try this AMD Video driver at this link there was a known issue (by HP) with certain HP laptops but can pursue that if this driver doesn't help as the one your using at the moment is from 2011.
Edit - found this link to the issue that affected a number of DV6 laptops , symptom was see the swtor cursor and sounds but a black screen.
If the linked AMD driver above doesn't help, i recall stashing the needed driver from amd that the HP forum refers too somewhere so if need can look if i still have it.

so I had to restore my computer to an earlier point for something and now swtor isn't working again and this won't download? it gets all the way to 0 KB/s and 161/161 MB and then doesn't finish and I can't open it so swtor still is not working now.
Best suggestion is try a different web browser to download the driver see if that helps
