And its not just the crew skill unlock....its anything that has a character/account variation regarding a purchase option.

Ummm. Just to point out that you have only TWENTY cartel coins on that account. If that's your 2nd account use your primary to purchase the unlocks and then mail them to your alt. If that's your primary you need to add CC to get them up to above the purchase price. Also if that's the 2nd account and not already at Preferred status add the coins there to get the free second crew skill.
If I cant see how much each unlock is, how do I know how many coins to buy?, not just with this unlock but any others? Its my second account. I only want to buy as many coins as needed. It still shows the (character) varient available even though I dont have enough coins...why doesnt it show the account varient as well? All my other accounts show this the same way.
The screen where you'd select which to purchase is being replaced with that error screen listing your insufficient funds. If you want to see the account wide costs check to see if your main displays them if you've got a quantity of CC there. Or use this link http://dulfy.net/2012/10/23/swtor-cartel-market-items/#3 . Some stuff will most likely be a little outdated by now but it'll give you ballpark numbers you'll need.
