There was no bug , there were changes that caused did cause issues on low end systems, to my knowledge those changes have been rolled back not fixed per sey
I gather you have removed and re-added exceptions for the antivirus and firewall for the game, sometimes on patches this can cause what is occurring for you too
another thing apart from trying a clean install ( has a new game install been tried )
go to the game folders , right mouse click on the game shortcut and select open file location , then click into another folder called swtor , delete the file called diskcachearena , then start the launcher and try again Yeah. Tried all of it. Uninstall and reinstall included. Still nothing. Guess I'm just confused as to why it just all of a sudden doesn't seem to work - like I said, my computer ran it perfectly fine up until whatever happened that got so many people locked out...

Studio is looking into this
Still unable to get in. Didn't see anything listed for tomorrow's update that continues to address this for those of us who are still out. Hopefully they're still working to fix it?

Can you try again after this patch and advise ?
Still no luck... ☹️ Everything worked fine until I bought the new black/red suppression trooper armor and saved with it as my active armor. Seeing the other problems people have been having with steam subs and cartel coin purchases, is it possible that it's not the armor and it's actually steam that could be causing the problem? just a little frustrated, been out for 3 weeks now. this is really the only game i even enjoy playing, i invest most of my down time into it.
Tried again this morning, did a new cold boot, did a new clean boot. Went through all of the steps from beginning to end again. Still no luck. Not angry like some. Not caring about compensation like some. Just want to be able to play again. I can only hope that the studio is still looking into this for those of us who are still sitting on the sidelines and haven't just forgotten us at this point...

i will follow up next week with support and see if they have anything further from the studio
Alright, found an older post on the boards that said to try setting clientsettings.ini to graphicsquality = 1 and texturequality = 1, that seems to have done the trick! Wish I would have found that post so much earlier!! But hey, I'm back in (at least for the moment) so all is good! Thank you Owen for all of your assistance through all of this!

glad to hear you got it working again
on the 3rd post we tried graphicsquality = 1 so the change must of been texturequality = 1
I did a post ages ago https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/Failure-to-Load-after-Update/m-p/13564018#M107745, using settings like that sorry didnt think of texturequality after graphicsquality failed, thats on me My game gets to the launch screen then freezes, never had this problem before, just getting back into the game
