STUCK! Help please!

Can someone help me with this issue, my game is trying to run at too high a resolution, and when I try change in the settings I can't get past this screen. I can't click play to get into game. I can't click settings to change resolution. I can't even click quit. I have to use task manager to shut down the game. I played yesterday just fine - nothing on my laptop has changed since yesterday. Should I just uninstall and play through Steam? Attached is a screenshot of what is happening.

    Thanks. Turns out it was set to play in windowed full screen mode and for some reason that was causing a problem. I was finally able to get into the settings and change to just full screen and it solved the problem. But thanks for replying and sending that guide, it may be helpful in the future :)
