Every time when i start SWTOR my desktop refreshrate changes to 144hz. Every gamesettings is set to 60hz mode and 60 fps cap. Even these cfg file from %appdata%.Its very frustrate me. I am using 60hz and dont have any problem with others game AT ALL. Please dont tell me about update graphic drivers\reinstall game and other obvios *****. I am not good in english, but i will try explain step by step. Starting windows --> my desktop refreshrate is 60hz -> launch SWTOR --> Game starts with 60hz --> press alt tab --> My desktop refreshrate changing to 144hz --> game still works at 60hz. WTF?Changing resolution IN GAME set my desktop refreshrate to 144hz. Alt+Enter (to fullscreen) changes my refrashrate to 144 in windows too. Whats wrong with you???How to stop it? I dont like play in window mode, no matter borderlees or so. I dont like game performance in windowed, i dont like gamma.Pc config:Win 7 64bitI5-4670 16GB ram780gtxMonitor Benq xl2411z (max 144hz, but i use 60hz for some reasons). All is up to date.

@Edelvises Can you provide a dxdiag per this link and the contents of the client_setting file seen per this link

The next time you turn your computer off, find the cable from the monitor to the computer, unplug the cable from the computer end and note down what you think it is, now on the metal just above or below that socket it will say what type of connector it is as noted by Proxos666, it will be engraved into the metal.If it doesn't show there, look in your graphics card manual or if your graphics is intergrated, the motherboard manual and find the specifications for the motherboard, it will say in that what the connectors are on the backend of the device.

@Edelvises Ok thanks for the info Swtor reads the EDID of the monitor i'm afaraid but need to work out why it is changing given you have 60Hz set in the client_setting file Can you load the montir driver from Benq at this link if not used previously sometimes they include corrections to the EDID, just want to see if this stops the switching occurring. It may be best to just not use ALT/Tab but use ALT/Enter to go into and out of fullscreen mode

Newer nvidia driver is at this link too The only way I can think of to stop this occurring is to remove 144Hz as an option altogether in the EDID, one way to do that can use CRU (Link) to create an override just selecting 1920x1080 @60Hz as the only available resolution. XL2411 should include Z , look at https://zowie.benq.com/en/support.html Edit - see this link the XL2411Z is now known just as as XL2411

To look at basics first, The DVI cable you are using which one does it match in the image below for pin layout ?

Yes i use 60hz by default. Becouse i dont need 144/120/100 and i cant play all games with stable 120+ fps. So i dont neet it at all.
Not sure what exactly cable i using. But i can choose in windows any refreshrate and its works fine. I am just prefer 60hz.
Cable was with monitor when i bought it.
One more time - i played A LOT of other games with this monitor and system. Like 200++++ And NO such problems at all. Dont search problem from my side.

I am already have this driver for monitor. Alt+Enter changes to 144hz too.
updt: u give me wrong driver. its for xl2411 i have xl2411Z. And driver is up to date. I am just checked.

Driver is updated by windows update module. It comes usualy with others updates for windows. Like KB1234567890 etc. There is no updates here.
