SWTOR is not launching under the new launcher

I have been unable to launch the game ever since the new launcher updated. After clicking "play" on the new launcher, the launcher grays out with blue animated circle implying it is doing something, but the game itself never launches, the blue circle just keeps animating seemingly forever. I launched the launcher in admin mode. I have win 7 pro 64bit.

Given its swtor.exe is appearing it may still be AV related , ensure the game shortcut is running as administrator as well

try a game repair as well , I doubt the repair utility will fix that, was thinking it may be on the launcher side still.

    Details to repair

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner.
If this is NOT present, click the cog icon and then run the repair option.
Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut,
select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher

Can you specify where or how to get the logs you want? I looked at the swtor/logs directory, but no new logs seem to have appeared after the succesful game launch. The two logs that there are are from before the fix.

    These are the 'old' logs
    http://koti.mbnet.fi/~jplaukka/storage/launcher_20151005.log
    http://koti.mbnet.fi/~jplaukka/storage/launcher_20151006.log

note: This is afaik the first time the bitraider directory has appeared in my game directory. I am a founder and have played since swtor launched, and to my knowledge I have never had the launcher as the streaming version. Ive looked for it in the past after reading some negative stuff about bitraider on the forums, but never found the directory.

ps. Im heading out for couple hours so it may take time for me to respond to next post. I am willing to provide you with the log if I know how..

These are the correct logs , they are date stamped so the logins will append to that days log.

The latest in what you supplied shows SSN so that's good, now you will also see

2015-10-06 09:36:02 INFO BitRaider is available for [swtor]

If you open the launcher.settings file with notepad

find the line , "bitraider_disable": false  and change it to "true"

then save, It should reflect that bitraider is disabled usually in the logs

Warning for others This will trigger a full game download if you are already using Bitraider

If wanting to disable Bitraider delete the movie, asset and bitraider folders before doing this.

This is to avoid folder bloat (+25GB) as 2 versions of the game will be installing.

"ps. Why is this bitraider thing here if it all it causes are problems?"

The Streaming Launcher allows you to play before the game is fully downloaded, though only on the starter worlds, and while you are playing it downloads the remaining game files. This requires the BitRaider software.

Doesn't seem like a good enough reason compared to the amounts of complaints Ive seen on the forums. If it was up to me I would get rid of it.

Anyways, I disabled the bitraider from launcher.settings as per instructions. I launched the game once to ensure that it still works after the change, which it does.

I've done what you suggested twice.  My launcher had the ST in the corner so i deleted the bitraider folder.  But every time I restart the launcher the Bitraider folder justs reappears.

If you are trying to get rid of bit raider you will need to do the following:

NOTE this is a complete download of the game again

right mouse click on game shortcut and select open file location

open the launcher.settings file in notepad and locate the below line and edit to the below

    , "PatchingMode": "{ \"swtor\": \"SSN\" }"
    , "bitraider_disable": true

    SAVE the changes.
Delete the BitRaider, Movie and Asset folders then start the launcher.
