Just to be sure when yo usaid you looked at the guides , that you re-installed or ran a repair per this guide link ?
yep, I reinstalled two days ago and did the repair today, twice (it's my go to fix, I have the luck to have stupid problems)

The onderon crash i have seen with intel cards but getting into the game is unaffected
If you have deleted the original game folder and reinstalled and done a repair , it likely isnt game file related.
Can try under a clean boot (edit - per this link) however if you installed as streaming you will need to leave the bitraider stub loader service enabled and running or you wont get to the play button on the launcher
You can also open a command prompt as administrator and type
sfc /scannow
this will do a system file check on the core window files
- 6 years ago
I did the scannow thing and it just returned to me with:
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
I didn't try the clean boot yet, and yeah I have the streaming launcher

I have to go its 2 am here , will check back when i am awake

Ok! Thanks for help (here is 4 pm)
Also, I did that clean boot via the instructions, left the bitraider thing running - and it's still crashing, just freezes with music in the background still and then crashes

after trying that clean boot I'm trying to get in game everyday, still crashing as before

You also have issues playing dragon age origins ? both are directx 9 games
- 6 years ago
nope, zero problems with DA: Origins (i have it installed and was able to get in, run around, start new game etc.)
on related note... I had a problem with Pillars of Eternity at the same time with swtor, can get in but cannot load game or start new one - but that's probably a graphic card issue (considering before i was playing when my radeon card was still functioning)

Can you generate a new dxdiag now the driver is updated, what is odd is if you look at the original dxdiag at the end you will find multiple DA:O errors with the d3d9.dll
- 6 years ago
that is interesting, I didn't have problems with da:o in years, but i also have it on gog now
but here is the fresh dxdiag
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
May need to check on the errors listed in the dxdiag , some are also an update failure for example
if you press the windows key and type reliability , open the reliability monitor and see what errors have been occurring over the last few weeks.
ok, i'm looking at that reliabity monitor, only errors I saw are from razer cortex and the da:o ones you mentioned... besides that on two windows update but it got out of the way eventually and I'm up to date with them
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
a pattern seems to be emerging "maybe" DA:O d3d9 , Pillars of eternity d3d9 and swtor d3d9
Maybe see if pillars of eternity runs ok under d11 per this link see the post by Asmodean-
I think its worth seeing if this is a directx 9 issue
- 6 years ago
it does look like a pattern, I'll try - have to reinstall Pillars first,
I have direct12 installed, do I have to install 11th or...
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
No its apart of windows , so in theory you are good for all direct x versions
- 6 years ago
I did the thing with Pillar's - still crashes after new game on first screen, no change
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
Not sure where to go from here , maybe a hardware issue ? although there are no error reports for swtor yet there is for DA:O which is odd
although dxdiag shows no issues with directx apart from DA:O crashing with the D3d9 dll file once
not sure if you want to try a broader option like trying a windows inplace repair per this link this is intended to keep all user data and just needs to re-install windows updates again or do a refresh, given what other things tried it doesn't leave a lot of options.

looks like it, honestly i'd prefer not to doing a kin of reinstall again, I had it done about 2 months ago (cuz of the radeon card)
i had this kind of thing happen before? but the fix with deleting the player gui's worked, now I don't even have it because of re-install, but it stopped by itself after a bit
i never know with swtor honestly
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
If you have no GUIs to keep , maybe delete the swtor folder in the appdata area, it will auto create a new copy on next launch is something easy to try first
- 6 years ago
I deleted it and it didn't crash! seems it was something there, might have to lower my settings for it to continue working, i'll be checking that
- proxos6666 years agoHero+
Fingers crossed
so. after just deleting the folder it let me in, crashed when I tried to set graphic settings - now crashes again at start-up.
i looked into settings, they saved, i might have to lower them, but I have no idea which one is making that problem pop-up

Just opening preferences or was something changed ?
