Unable to buy cartel coins on new account w/60 day subscription.
I am new to SWTOR and have been playing for 4 days. I got a 60 day subscription on the first day, paid via credit card and that worked fine.
A couple of days later I wanted to update look via some Cartel items, but the game wont let me buy cartel coin, and the problem is not with the credit cards.
I first tried via web page, using same card I used to pay subscription, but get message "This service is currently unavailable for this account."
The message does not say card was rejected...it sounds as if they have disabled coins for this new account for unknown reason and it suggests I call customer support (which you cant do since they dont take phone or email calls anymore). I opened an in-game ticket yesterday morning, but have not received any response.
I tried also via website using paypal, but it did not work (and paypal did not receive any request). I also tried in-game and got "error 9". Using a 2nd card on web site also fails. So it really seems like they have disabled coin purchases on this new account...which seems odd for a game that wants you to buy coins... I dont have this issue with other games like Star Trek Online.
Is there some waiting period for a new account before they allow coin purchases?
Also, now that all support is only via in-game ticket, how long does it normally take those to get a response?
Swtor support advise initially waiting a full 24hrs before attempting again, it appears to be the automated security system at this point , and it can clear if no attempts in a full 24hr period.
if that doesn't help CS can see you have an ticket in the queue and they will look at it deeper if still an issue when the ticket gets picked up from the queue and they will respond back by email.
