"Your current game version does not match the server's"

Hi all,

Ever since the patch 5.9.2b I'm getting the error after launching "Your current game version does not match the server's".

I've read up quite a bit on this and tried everything:

- Deleting the bitraider - then it installs again

- Using the non streaming launchger (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Troubleshooting-Guides-Info/Guide-How-to-Switch-to-Non-Streaming-Launcher/td-p/4867417)

- Running the launcher repair utility

Nothing seems to work.

Anyone else getting this error or know how to fix it?

There is the work around that is not ideal, by clicking "Play" and not clicking on the "OK" of the error message in game.

Thanks.

  • @MuseHorizon This unfortunately is a very rare error to do with how ISPs and other network nodes cache data. Basically, we've updated the game and uploaded a new patch, but news of the new patch hasn't reached whatver node you're connecting to yet. So when your launcher tries to determine whether to update the game it thinks it's fully up to date, and launches thinking everything is normal. Then the servers see that your client version doesn't match the server, and kicks you.

You can try to Flush your DNS or use Google's DNS if you're familiar or experienced enough: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

But other than that, it's just a matter of trying every day to see if the launcher downloads the patch. It shouldn't last more than a few days.

@EA_Kipling Thanks, I appreciate the quick response. I actually am using Google's DNS already.

I will update this thread once it works again.
