Whether you have the datacron(s) of the moment or not - GAC is configured to provide a 50 / 50 ish win / loss rate.
I'd rather datacrons hadn't been introduced but I think the importance of them is a bit exaggered.at times.
Well...I just beat an SLKR with Darth Vader datacron. 100% certain, no doubt, I lose if I don't have that datacron. If I was the other guy its fair to say he lost this GAC because of datacrons.
So you’re more likely to lose next event and the other guy is more likely to win next event. Let’s see how high your sweet Vader dc can take you and if you can still stay there when it will leave the meta.
Considering how gac mm is designed, if you were unlucky with your dc rolls and unable to keep up with meta, you’ll go down the ladder where you have more chances of winning. Also, you might not be so unlucky next DC set. So even if your bad luck is the reason of a temporary step back in the ladder, you’ll be back to your sweet spot eventually. The only thing that could drop a player in the ladder for good is if they decide to not engage with dc altogether.
However, it’s probably different for the very top of the ladder where you need every bit of advantage to stay on top.
